Customer Reviews
Below are some fairly typical reviews from customers that have stayed
at the Comfort Inn Bayswater. They are independent viewpoints and
not necessarily the view of this web site.
"Nothing much to write about this hotel. It is one of those
hotel where no special feeling or special experience attached to
it. The location is definately superb. Very near to the tube/underground
station. Infact there are 2 stations. one on each end of the street
behind the hotel. Souvineir shops and food is not a problem. On
the same street where the stations are, you can find almost everything
you need. restaurant, fast food restaurant, internet cafe and lots
of shops. Being in such a busy area, the exact location of the hotel
is quite peaceful, which is good. Just across the other street near
the hotel was the kensington park. Where the kensington palace and
memorial pond of late Princess Diana are located. It is a huge park
(at least for us). We almost got lost in it. If you are taking the
big bus company tour, one of their many stop is quite near to the
hotel.
The
hotel itself is made up of few block of houses ina row. Even it
is not a high building, they have lif/elevator facilities. The standard
room that we got for ourself was ok. No wow factor to it. Bed is
comfy enough. The room is, ok sized. Just enough enough space without
feeling too crowed. Bathroom is clean and quite spacious. The breakfast
was the worst we had among all the hotels we've stayed in throughout
our short europe tour. Extra money/payment needed for the full english
breakfast. Only cash. Not allowed to be charge to the room. The
lady at the entrance of the breakfast room was not friendly at all.
No smile, no eye contact and can be even sarcastic. 2 nights we
were there, we just had juice+hot coffee+bread+butter.
The
front desk staff were not welcoming and friendly either. They look
as if they were busy all the time, to even entertain checking in
guest! Very difficult to get their attention especially when we
have questions to ask. It took us 15minutes just to get the black
and white photocopied map of London (part of it). They can call
a cab/taxi for us to get to the airport early morning (4am) but
that too...cannot be charge to the room. Only cash to the taxi driver."
" Spent one week in this hotel and I was very pleased with
the service, food and equipment. Also the price was OK for a hotel
of that standard There
is only one point I found very sad:
During the checkin procedure I was asked by the young! female concierge
whether I come from germany. After affirming that the reaction was
concise, unfriendly and rough. I experienced the same behaviour
when I came to the breakfast room by the woman who checked the room
cards. As a curious young traveller who wanted to discover London
for the first time, it felt very sad to be treated that way. It's
a pity because I really liked this hotel and London is such a ecxiting
place."
"The hotel is located right next to Kensington Park in a nice
and quiet street. The receptionists were very nice and welcomed
us well. The room was pretty clean. It had private bathroom (not
shared), TV and safe. Breakfast was nice but very simple. The hotel
is located near Queensway tube station which brings you fast wherever
you want to go.
We enjoyed our stay and the staff. We recommend the hotel for anyone
who goes traveling on budget."
"We stayed in the main building of the hotel (7th floor). The
room was small (average for Europe) and clean. There is a LOT of
rehab. work going on in the hotel. So during the day there was a
lot of noise and workmen everywhere. We had a couple of minor issues
because of the work. But nothing worth mentioning.
There is a luggage room that you can leave your bags in if you arrive
before check-in. That was very convenient. We were able to explore
the city instead of sitting in the lobby for a few hours waiting
to check in.
The staff was a bit aloof...very polite but not really friendly.
Breakfast is cereal and toast/bread. (You have to pay extra for
the hot dishes. It didn't seem worth it.)
The hotel is very convenient to two tube stations (Queensway and
Bayswater). You can get pretty much anywhere on the tube. (It is
very organized and easy to use.) There are a couple of Starbucks
close to the hotel too if you really need a latte. There are many
pubs, restaurants and stores within a few blocks. Hyde Park is very
close too.
Overall I would recommend this hotel. It's pleasant and conveniently
located. Enjoy your trip!!"
