Customer Reviews
Below are some fairly typical reviews from customers that have stayed
at the Central Park Bayswater. They are independent viewpoints and
not necessarily the view of this web site.
"We took our chances and booked a stay for three nights at
this hotel. Upon arriving, we found the staff to be helpful with
our luggage. Strangely enough, the girl at the desk spoke Dutch,
our mothertongue, but would only address us in English.
The
room was recently renovated and clean, including the bathroom. The
only drawback was that the room was located on the ground floor,
which meant that it was impossible to open a window. The street
in front of the hotel was quiet at nighttime, although the walls
between the rooms were quite thin.
Breakfast
was alright if you expect nothing more than a basic meal to get
you started. The staff's English wasn't always perfect, but then
again, nor is ours! They were always very helpful, friendly and
understandable.
The
hotel's best feature is its location. It's located close to two
major underground lines, which take you to the centre of London
in no time. Furthermore, the hotel was located nearby a street with
inexpensive restaurants and supermarkets, which is nice if you are
on a budget.
All
in all, we really liked the hotel for the price it was offering.
The most important to us is that it is clean and conveniently located,
and the hotel met those two demands perfectly. We would certainly
recommend it to travellers on a budget who don't want to stay in
a dingy hotel."
"The decor is dated, continental breakfast in minimal but staff
were friendly and back side of hotel doesn't face a street so quiter,
particularly if you sleep with a window open for fresh air. Loaction
is it's best feature and unless you plan to stay inside the room
was clean and service acceptable. I would recommend this place for
what it is advertised as a budget hotel."
"I had a double room facing the back of the hotel onto the
private houses which I think was better than the front of the hotel
as it was not noisy at all and I had the window wide open. The room
was clean and tidy the decor was dated but I have seen worse. The
'continental breakfast' was cereal, toast, crossiant with tea/coffee
preserve and a shot glass of orange or apple juice. The staff were
friendly and we requested two more pillows which they delivered
within 10 mins. Not a bad hotel really similar to a travel lodge.
Great location for tube stations and busses to explore London."
"My
surprise the room was quite big which was unexpected, the bathroom
was basic a bit old but clean. The service was excellent we arrived
at 10:00 a.m. and the reception staff was kind enough to check us
in, we asked for a baby cot, we received immediately a very new
and clean one). The location is really good very close to both Queensborough
and bayswater tube stations. I didn't have a chance to visit the
Hyde Park since my visit was really short but the hotel is few steps
from it "
"The
hotel is (like many others) from the outside and the lobby trying
to look like a 5 star hotel, but when you reach your room, you realize
why you are in a 3 star hotel. Small and a bit booring rooms but
clean enough and OK beds. The bathroom was also small, but OK. The
tap however could need some adjustment.
There
is a safe and a refrigerator in every room. I was very happy about
the safe as i didn't have to carry too much mony and passport around
every day. But the refrigerator was a joke. It was the warmest place
in the room, so no cold beer or sandwich from the supermarket in
there :-(
The
breakfast was not my cup of tea, but not as worse as sombody has
written. The staff was OK, but the bartender girl looked like she
was booring herself to death. Tell her that it is a part of the
job to look a bit friendly.
The
place is a non-smoking hotel which is OK if there had been a smoking
room. It was deeply irritatating to have to walk downstairs and
out on the street to smoke. (It is still allowed to be a smoker!)."
