Central Park Hotel Bayswater

The Central Park Hotel Bayswater is a large (nearly 300 bedroom) three star hotel in Bayswater that often deep discounts to very competitive room rates. Of the cheap Bayswater hotel accommodations in London the Central Park Hotel is one of the better options.

The Bayswater district is one of London's major budget hotel districts where you can get cheap hotels. Its a very pleasant district to stay and is handily located on the northern border of Hyde Park / Kensington Gardens. Queensway is the commercial strip with countless restaurants, two underground stations, even an ice skating rink. The district is very much aimed at the leisure traveler want good value from their hard earned money.

As such there are few large global brand name hotel chains here, most are independent hotels where frills are kept to a minimum.

The Central Park is down an avenue just about 100m from Kensington Gardens. You can access Queensway itself and the two underground stations in just 2 or 3 minutes.

The Central Park Hotel has its fair share of tour groups. It is one of the few purpose built, relatively modern hotels in Bayswater. Room rates are more often than not deep discounted Sunday through to Thursday. At weekends rates are normally a lot, lot higher with much less discounting but if they're struggling with numbers the cheap rates are sometimes available at weekends too..

Central Park Hotel Bayswater - Typical Reviews

"This hotel is 2 mins walk from Queensway tube, we paid for 3 nights room only and were very happy with it. We really only used it as a base but the room was a good size, very clean and cleaned fully each day....perfect for a sightseeing trip to London. "

"We spent 8 nights at the Central Park Hotel as part of a package deal. Our room was basic but the beds were comfortable and room and bath were very clean. It's proximity to Queensway tube was an advantage, and we enjoyed having Kensington Gardens close by, too. One concierge was unhelpful, one was very helpful. Our biggest complaint was the shower -- it frequently went from freezing cold to scalding hot and back again, making showers a hassle. And if we slept in, there was little hot water left. We'd probably go somewhere else the next time, but we were satisfied with our stay here, after we started taking baths to control the water temperature! "

"This is a great hotel ! rooms are clean and tidy very large for london. i stayed for a night and will be def staying again. for the price it beats all expectations, please keep in mind this is a cheap hotel in a great location if your looking for amazing service etc then dont be so cheap! this is similar to a travel lodge room etc "

"This is not a first class hotel but quite adequate and good value. Staying anywhere in London is expensive but this hotel is in a great area, close to everything you'd want and very reasonable. Clean, adequate rooms. Helpful enough staff. Information in the room could be more helpful - about laundry internet connection - nothing about this in my room.

I'd readily recommend it for cheap and cheerful accommodation.

If you are coming from Paddington Station with luggage take a taxi (about 6-7 pounds). Far too many stairs at the tube stations!!!

No luggage storage at the hotel, which is a nuisance if you are travelling to trhe southern hemisphere and leaving in the evening. Paddington does have a left luggage storage facility which is not too expensive and very handy. "

"The staff at the desk were helpful and friendly at check-in. Despite the fact that this is a non-smoking hotel, a previous guest had decided to be anti-social and leave our room stinking of his/her tobacco. The front desk had no hesitation in apologising and allocating another room, which was fine. So by now we have seen the lobby, the fifth floor corridor and the third floor corridor, together with a room on each floor. The carpets throughout appeared to be very new, and everywhere was spotless.

The rooms are not enormous, but this is not a 4 or 5 star hotel, so what do you expect? There was certainly adequate space to walk around the room, though two people would struggle to be in the bathroom at the same time. The bathroom, the basin, bath and toilet were spotless and shining. The worst hotel I ever stayed in was in New York, where the second bed in our twin room slid out from underneath the other bed, blocking the ony door to the room - the place was a grimy, smelly fire-trap.

Breakfast was absolutely fine. My wife had a continental - croissants, bread and toast, with ample supplies of butter and jam/marmalade. Sure, a continental breakfast in a more upmarket hotel would offer ham, fruit etc - but this is a cheaper end hotel in London, so again, what do you expect? I had the English, which was absulutely fine. Better bacon and sausage than I've had in many, more expensive hotels, together with boiled, scrambled or fried egg, beans and hash browns - perfectly acceptable and tasty. The breakfast hostess was the charttiest, friendliest I have ever come across, and the breakfast staff were all friendly and very comptetent. "
