The Holiday Inn Bloomsbury is a large 313 bedroom plus hotel in the northern part of the popular Bloomsbury district of London. The Holiday Inn Bloomsbury is in a nice relatively quiet area with a bit of a village feel. It is almost out of place in the immediate vicinity, a large tower hotel in an area of small shops and residences.
There are small shops opposite including a pharmacy, dry cleaners/laundry and newsagents. On the ground floor is a large pub, though there are lots of more authentic pubs in the locality. The hotel is about 300m north of Russell Square Underground and not much further to Euston Station.

The University of London is a major neighbouring site and some of the shops and services around seem more consistent with a student population than main stream tourists at the Holiday Inn.
The Holiday Inn has pretty standard rooms you get in any chain hotel nowadays, the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury particularly often has good deals on family rooms.
The hotels has the normal conference/business facilities, health club, restaurants, bars, car hire desks etc. you would expect at a large chain hotel.
The Holiday Inn Bloomsbury is often confused with the Holiday Inn Kings Cross/Bloomsbury. This one is in a far better location.

The Bloomsbury area is a very elegant and central location to stay in London. There are lots of other 4 star hotels in the immediate vicinity all of which have quite volatile room rates. Most others have more character than the Holiday Inn and are more expensive.

"I have stayed in many hotels in london and think this is one of the best. I stayed in room 644 which was extremely quiet. It had 2 double beds and lots of space. Everything you would need. A car park with limited spaces but only £20 until 6pm the following night and I got a space on both days fine.
Good price for London. The gym and pool is £3.50 the pool is small but doesn't seem to get busy and is open till 10pm. Good size gym. Has a steam room and sauna too, very relaxing. Nice food. I would stay again. "
"I guess I'm simply not a fan of these hotels. However, I was placed here for a business and fortunately did not pick up the highly inflated price personally.
It may be well placed for London's major attractions but I found the rooms dull, out dated, parking was limited, staff looked so fed up that I didn't bother asking for any help, room service was limp and overall I think I would have rather had slept in my car - especially as I had no choice but to park it on a poorly lit non residential street behind the hotel; the sort of street government agencies employ film crews to use as backdrops to warn us of the perils of car crime.
You'll have a good nights sleep and everything works but why these major city chains of hotels have to charge such inflated tariffs for what are essentially utilitarian holding pens for duped tourists and foreign businessmen in need of a trouser press is an anathema to me. "
"Rooms are as you would expect from the Holiday Inn chain. Leisure club with pool, whirlpool, sauna and steamroom in basement is welcome in a city centre hotel (£3 charge for residents + £1 locker refundable).
Breakfast is good (buffet style) but can get very busy with the regular coach tours that stay here. In the evening the Indian restaurant does good food too although i'd recommend getting a meat or veg feast delivered to your room as better value! "
"The hotel is based about 50 meters from Russell Square station. There's a small shopping center next to it (we noticed it on the day we left).
We stayed on the standard double room which was kinda small. The window faced the inner yard of the hotel which was gravel with some a/c engines. That is not a nice view.
The room was very clean. We had hot water all day long.
The lobby is big. The staff is very helpful and smile all the time.
The breakfast is excellent. It's buffet and the quality is good.
We will return but will order a higher standard room. "
" I have visited this hotel many times, a good experience, on most of the visits, had a room next to the lift once, once only. Complained, about the noise and had a free stay. Do not get next to the lifts, I am deaf and it was a a very bad night.
Very good location 15 mins walk to Kings Cross Station, or bus out side 2 mins trip. Most rooms are OK for one person, there are some bigger rooms if there are 2 or more persons.
Very good dining, Euro or Indian, both very good for a London Hotel of this class. I can recommend this establishment for a value for money, in the centre of London. Very little, expensive parking.
If you are disabled, as I am, you may find the ramp to the front doors obstructed with parked motor bikes or cycles, as I have in the past. A little better on recent visits! "
