Travelodge Euston - Budget Hotel By Euston Station

Budget Hotel Off Euston Road Opposite Euston Underground & Rail Stations

Travelodge Euston
Travelodge Euston

The Travelodge Euston is one of the closest hotels to Euston Station. Barely 200m east of the station complex by the Euston Road this is one of the budget Travelodge chain's newer properties in London.

Make no mistake this is a no frills budget hotel. There is no hot food and you will not find complementary toiletries in the bathroom. You will find a comfortable bed, standard sized room, modern tv and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom comes with towels but little else but some plastic cups.

Like all Travelodges, rates are standard but you can get bargain room rates sometimes a small fraction of the turn up on the day rate if you book very early on the Travelodge web site, (see booking/more info link below). Like all hotels in Euston rates are normally cheaper at the weekend when your chances of getting a saver rate are also much better.

The location of the Travelodge makes it handy for St Pancras and Kings Cross Stations too, only 5 minutes walk down the Euston Road. There are a wide variety of restaurants and pubs in the area, plus snack based outlets in Euston Station. With 5 underground lines on your doorstep and a myriad of bus routes you can be most places you want to go in London within 15 minutes.

If you are looking for cheap saver rates, availability is normally better at one of the Kings Cross Travelodges about 1 km east.

Travelodge Euston - Typical Reviews

"Check in was a breeze and via the machine in the foyer.

The room we were first given was on the first floor looking right on to euston garden and the bus depot. The noise was not good and due to the floor level, people on the top deck of passing buses could look in as they stopped at the traffic lights. We asked to be moved and the very helpful guy at the desk, asked us to come back in an hour and to see what rooms were available after the cleaners had finished.

After a nice drink at the euston flyer pub just down the road we returned and were given a basement room. This room was brilliant, very quite, clean and perfect for a London hotel with an excellent location.

Euston station is a stones throw away. Would stay again and recommend the hotel.

For breakfast we headed out to the Pinner Cafe in Charlton Street, about a 3-5 minutes walk behind the hotel. This small but excellent cafe does a full breakfast menu, the full English with toast and tea was great value at £6, didn't eat again till the evening!"

"It is about a 5 minute walk from Kings Cross station and directly opposite Euston station and underground (although we didnt use this underground station, as there was more lines from kings cross) there are a few pubs and restaurants around the area although we didnt use any.

Rooms were quite small, but the bed was comfy and shower was nice. Don't really need a big room when you're only sleeping/bathing in it.

We were located on the ground floor opposite the main road, so for the first night I didnt sleep very well as it is on the main bus route, but the second night, being so tired from walking round london all day, I slept ok. If we stayed again I would maybe ask for a room higher up, or on the opposite side if there are any available.

Staff were pleasant and rooms were clean. One downside of the hotel was that there was no left luggage service at the hotel so we had to pay £8 to leave it at kings cross. "

"A place to lay one's head, as opposed to a welcoming hotel, but our experience certainly was not of the dire kind, and the location of this place, adjacent to the transport hub that is Euston Station, is just great.

Travelodge IMHO could make very much more of this well-situated place - eg, why ever should they lock up the bar lounge after breakfast and close it at 11pm or sooner?? - why not make this (fairly dismal, underground) area appealing for all-day visitors instead?

Another mild complaint is their refusal to store guests' luggage - an absolute pain, and something which other nearby hotels seem to manage OK "

"Travelodge promis a room, a good bed, a private bathroom and a continental breakfast, and that is exactly what you get. The price is reasonable and the cleanliness of the room makes the whole deal good value. The breakfast was even better than expected from a budget priced continental. And express check-in (self service) worked fine. Service was ok. The remote to my TV was missing, and I had to ask twice to get one. But other than that, nothing to remark regarding the service level. "

"Travelodges are basic but adequate, we all expect that but it's a shame to see a Rynair type policy of charging for everything, such as shower gel, although using the toilet is still free. However, I'd stop here again, the hotel is reasonably new, it's clean, functional, got lifts, the logistics of it are amazing and although you don't see many staff, apart from reception, they seemed helpful. I was worried about street noise, it's a potential problem at all hotels round there, I always carry earplugs as a travel accessory but didn't need them, although we were round the back facing onto a quiet lane and although London was freezing when we were there, the heating worked fine."
