Typical
Customer Travelodge Kings Cross Reviews
Below are some fairly typical reviews from customers that have stayed
at the Travelodge Kings Cross. They are independent viewpoints and
not necessarily the view of this web site.
Travelodge Royal Scot
"Recently
took a group of six senior school students to London. The hotel
was close enough to KX station that we were able to walk there with
our luggage. The journey taking no more than 10-15 mins. Check in
was swift and the triple rooms on the 4th floor were small but clean
and tidy. For the money we paid, I did not expect much else. I would
consider using this hotel again when taking students to London.
Only real gripe was the slowness of the lifts, sometimes taking
upto 5 mins to arrive."
"We stayed at this hotel and found it to be very comfortable
and clean. The staff on arrival were very helpful and the whole
process of booking in took only a few minuets. The room was very
clean and of a decent size. The room was cleaned daily with towel
changes daily. On the whole the whole experience was ok. We didnt
eat in the hotel but people said the food was good, the bar staff
were pleasent and helpful. I would definatly use this hotel again."
All 3 rooms were on the third floor. Two of the three were fine,
the third was a little cramped and stuffy (Would not be much fun
in a heat wave or middle of summer). Consequently only 2 stayed
in the stuffy room and four used one of the "bigger" rooms.
Generally
the accommodation was fine. Plenty of hot water, comfortable enough
bedding etc.
Workmen
in the courtyard seemed to kick off pretty early each morning (about
7.00am) so chances of a sleep in were not good. This was in some
ways a blessing in disguise as it enabled us to get out and about. We
didn't eat breakfast in, preferring to use the many little cafe's
spread around the area - which worked fine as they were cheaper
and probably had a better choice/value. (I can't really comment
as we didn't eat in once).
For
the rate we paid the rooms were fine, as the old song goes, two
out of three ain't bad!"

Farringdon
"Just
returned from a 2 night stay at the London Farringdon. We were a
group of 5 girls, staying in a double and a triple room. Arrived
at the hotel more than an hour before checkin time - hotel staff
were very accomadating and as 1 of the rooms was ready we were able
to checkin immediately. Rooms were clean and comfortable - exactly
what we were looking for as a base to stay to explore the city.
Staff were very friendly and approachable - we had requested that
the double bed be changed into single beds. Upon arrival this hadn't
been done but after asking at reception it was completed by the
time we returned to the hotel in the evening.
The hotel is easily accessible from Kings Cross Station - you can
jump on the number 63 bus right outside the station and it stops
outside the hotel - or it is only a maximum of a 10 minute walk
down Kings Cross Road.
We had 1 room at the rear of the hotel and the other at the front.
Kings Cross Road is busy throughout the night so if possible when
booking it is advisable to request a room at the rear where the
noise isn't as noticeable.
We didnt eat at the hotel but they do a buffet breakfast for £7.50
- and if you have children they eat for free. The bar in the hotel
stayed open till 1am although there are a few pubs on Kings Cross
Road which also stay open till 12 - 12.30am - where the staff were
all friendly. They are also plenty of little cafes on Kings Cross
Road which serve breakfasts."
