The Darlington Hyde Park (like nearly all the hotels in Paddington) is housed in terraces of Georgian Town Houses. The terrace of which the Darlington Hyde Park resides is no exception, there are six or seven one after each other in the same block.
From the outside it is just one hotel in a continuous terrace of similar hotels. If you want a cheap budget Paddington hotel this is perhaps not for you, if you want quality keep reading. Patrons who return time after time to the Darlington Hyde Park come for the comfort and friendliness of the staff and getting all the basics right, this is not a facility filled 4 star hotel with sauna's and fancy restaurants.

"We have stayed here over the last 6- 7 years, sometimes two, three times a year and have never found anything to complain about.
All the staff are pleasant, courteous and ready to help. Rooms are of decent proportions for London. Cooked English or continental breakfast is very well done and has a variety of foods, cereals and juices. Darlington's location next to Paddington station, Hyde park and many pubs and restaurants is unbeatable.
Given all this Darlington is a reasonably priced hotel in central London. "
"We booked a room for 3 nights and then added 2 more night via separate booking. It was great, no problems. The location is hard to beat - we were within walking distance of Paddington station , is convenient for Heathrow Express. Hotel is situated near Hyde park, on the green, quiet street and near to buses and tube stations.
Bathroom was always nice and warm, hot water never failed. Room service was excellent . Friendly staff, couldn't have been better. Breakfast was good for London, it was possible to order a full English breakfast, but we did not order, we had enough fresh pastries and coffee. Free Wi fi. It was possible to leave our luggage after check out. I highly recommend. "
"The staff were excellent - friendly and professional. The room was quite small, but perfectly fine for a business trip: Comfy bed and I loved the tucked out of the way ensuite. The Internet connection was fine too. A highlight was the breakfast - you could survive the rest of the day on it if you wanted to.
It's in a great location: Less than 10 minutes walk to Paddington station, Hyde Park and the Edgeware road. Plenty of good restaurants and pubs. Check out the Royal Exchange (Cnr Sale Pl and St Michael's St).
Finally - it was a great rate, compared to what's available elsewhere in London for a comparable price.
It doesn't have the swank and glamour of the bigger hotels, but who needs to pay for stuff you don't use or only adds snob value? Overall, a little gem of an establishment, highly recommended and I'll definitely be staying again. "
"The room size is not small and staff is friendly especially the restaurant staff. The breakfast is good and the location is near by paddington station. If you want to go to oxford circuit or marble arch etc you can take a bus no 23 or 159 just right across and go straight is a bus stop so you can take this two bus from those shopping area and just get off from st mary hospital even better take a meto back. Also free wifi you can use in your room.Overall i will recommend this hotel to my friend "
