Arriving at Paddington Station the Hilton Paddington is the most convenient full service hotel at Paddington. The Hilton Paddington (pictured right) is the original Paddington station hotel an integral part of Paddington Station itself.
Its sister hotel, the Hilton Metropole is a few hundred metres down the road and could not be a bigger contrast, a 1,000+ room mass market chain hotel.

Like all luxury hotels in London rates fluctuate quite dramatically, even day by day for the same room. Hilton normally offer a choice of room rates for each room type, room only, room with breakfast or half board.
Rates at both Hilton hotels in Paddington tend to be cheaper at the weekend. We have a dedicated page covering all Hilton hotels in Central London.
The Hilton Paddington is the more expensive of the two hotels, you pay for the convenience of walking straight onto the Heathrow Express train. It has a wide choice of rooms perhaps orientated more to the business traveler including suites with separate living rooms and is housed in the Victorian building from when Paddington was first built.
The Hilton Metropole is a complete contrast. A large 1,000+ room hotel in a large block catering to the mass market. Typical kind of place tour groups will go. The building is a local landmark and has several wings, rooms vary a lot reflected by the widely differing room rates available. The Hilton Metropole has a fair number of family rooms, not always available in 4 star hotels in London.
The Hilton Metropole is about 800m along the street from the Paddington Station entrance. Edgeware Road Underground station is almost opposite. The Hilton Metropole is sited in the Arab district of London. Its a short walk to Oxford Street, London's busiest shopping street where most of the large department stores are, (but not Harrods).
Both Hilton properties at Paddington offer all the services of four star hotels including a choice of restaurants and bars and fitness facilities.

Hilton Paddington - Typical Reviews
"Stayed here on a boys weekend and had a great time. Excellent breakfast and a steak house across the road. Literally 2 min walk from the station, the hotel is clean, rooms are tidy and there is a business centre. Given the proximity to the main road and station the rooms were pleasantly quiet. Reception staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
The only downside for me is the ridiculously expensive internet, but there is an internet cafe across the road by Burger King and several patrons went there as did I, for a fraction of the cost.
Otherwise the hotel has the wow factor and I will definitely be staying here again when I visit London by train. "
"Hilton often means luxury. That is not the case with the Hilton London Paddington. It is clean as you would expect from a Hilton Hotel. The staff is well mannered but very impersonal. If you still expect hotel staff to remember your last name the Hilton London Paddington will disappoint you Once upon a time this was the Great Western Hotel that owned the Train Station where the hotel is housed. This can be seen in some carpets, in the motifs in the lobby and in other parts of the hotel.
Entrance to the hotel is convenient for people arriving by train (including those that are arriving from Heathrow Airport).
The rooms are cozy but old fashioned. You can get a good night's sleep as you will not hear any outside noise. Families will find this hotel acceptable. I missed a gym which would have been nice. The restaurant is acceptable but not great.
This is a business travelers hotel. Pricing is reasonable but not cheap. You choose this hotel to accumulate or use Hilton Honors points as well as to be close to Paddington. Marble Arch, Oxford Street, Hyde Park, etc. have better located hotels that cost less.Of course there are also very much more expensive and luxurious Hilton hotels in the area if that is what you are looking for There are less expensive places to go. Public transportation (buses and underground) serve this location well. Taxis are easy to find at any time of day or night. "
"We stayed at this hotel purely because it is located adjacent to Paddington Station. We had an early international flight from Heathrow and the Heathrow Express is only a 15 min ride from Paddington.
I was very impressed with our room. I booked a room for 3 adults which is very hard to do in Europe. In the US we are used to the one king or 2 double beds, but in the UK there is no such thing. So, our room was a suite and had 2 rooms. I was glad to get a little privacy, so was my sister!
The best part was we had a fabulous balcony which had a pretty nice view. The linens, and towels were very nice as was the smart room. Overall, good pick. Would not stay here if we were touring London though. It is out of the way of major attractions. "
Hilton Metropole Paddington - Typical Reviews
"This is a giant hotel opposite Edgware Road Tube Stations, and has two towers linked by restaurant and hotel shops on ground floor.
My friend and I stayed one night. On arrival at 11.30 there was a queue to check in but, as HHHonors member, I was able to bypass this. The room allocated to us was not ready but the receptionist upgraded us to a twin double-bedded room in West Wing - room 980. This was spacious and very comfortable. We slept well. The bathroom had shower over the bath; it was not obvious how the shower worked but we managed eventually. An instruction sign above the taps would be useful.
We ate lunch in the restaurant. The food was good, especially duck terrine and the sea bass and salmon. But service was not good. The manager appeared not to be supervising and the staff were inexperienced. I had to remind about our wine, get our own cutlery from a neighbouring table and tell one waiter our order had already been taken. A pity that it is so uncoordinated."
"We have just returned from a weekend at Hilton Metropole very big hotel,1000 Rooms today approx 1400 for bfast so we only had to queue for 10 mins which really was not to bad.Our room was on the 12th floor the view was ok but nothing special, We did the upgrade on the room which is worth doing when staying with the Hilton chain. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfy and huge which was great.Bfast was very good with plenty of choice on hot and cold items which was great.you can eat as much as you like with omelettes cooked to order with a good choice of fillings and the service was fine as well.So all in all a good weekend was had. "
" It is situated in the arab area of London so when you go for a walk you see all the restaurants with people sitting outside smoking with the traditional hookah pipes. Handy to shops and services and also the tube. Amazing buffet breakfast with awesome selection of food to choose from. One point to note is that it is obviously a very large and bustling hotel but does have a Costa Coffee outlet in the foyer. "
