Crestfield Bed and Breakfast Hotel Kings Cross - Typical Reviews

"The room was small, but clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. The location was pretty good as the Kings Cross and St. Pancreas train stations are 3 blocks away. You can even walk about 4 blocks to access the Canal and from there it's a very pleasant 30 minute walk to Camden Market, a place not to miss.

Not much to do in the area of the hotel itself. There is a good cafe a few blocks away on Northdown street named The Blue River Cafe.

We choose this hotel due to it's proximity to the Eurostar train we would be taking to Paris and back. But with Kings Cross being so nearby it turned out to be a good choice for all our destinations in London.

My only negative comment, and the reason they didn't get an excellent rating, is that the breakfast room isn't even close to big enough to accommodating the number of people they can book into the hotel. I can't comment on the quality of the food because i gave up trying to get any. I was happy with my stay here, but just know to plan on eating breakfast elsewhere. "

" Single room is small and plain (like most other budget rooms in London). Dusty bedsheets, worn carpets and cheap-looking, old furniture. Showerhead looks disgusting (see picture). But for the price for an ensuite room with a generous continental breakfast, I think I can't complain much.

Most of the receptionists on duty are unenthusiastic and unfriendly (yes, they hate their job).

Overall, ok if you're staying for just a couple of nights as the location is excellent (5 minutes on foot to St Pancras underground and neighbourhood seems fairly safe). "

"We found the Crestfield to be very well located for my wife & I to get to it from Heathrow & it was located very close to the Kings Cross Tube Station to access London. There was also several bus stops nearby that allowed access to much of London also.

The room was small but did the job & was very clean. The WC was also small but the shower was one of the better ones we have had in Europe.

There were several restaurants & pubs within easy walking distance from the hotel. Considering all of the hotels & B&B's we have stayed in during our European trips this hotel gives good value for the price & we would stay there again. Its not a 4* hotel but does the job & is very clean & the attendents are very polite & helpful. "

"The location of this hotel is a major plus point; it's literally a 5 minute walk from London Kings Cross, with KFC and McDonald's just round the corner.
Service was good; the receptionist was friendly. Also, I was upgraded to a double bedroom; I think this was because I requested for a upper floor, refurbished room with clean toilets, though I have no idea which factor led to this upgrading. But to have taken these requests into account is indeed commendable. The room looked extremely cosy. It feels like one of those places you wouldn't mind staying forever. The toilets were clean too, and the television one that hangs over the wall. There isn't a chair for the dressing table though. There really isn't anything bad to be said about the room, except for the fact that the walls are really, really thin. I could hear the conversation of the people in the room next to mine, and the floor creaked whenever their bed moved, which was often, given that they were understandably a young couple on a tourist trip together in the same room.
It was slightly disturbing, but this can be easily resolved by having a pair of earplugs handy. Noise from the outside wasn't a problem. Wireless is complimentary, in the bar. Look for the dog the owner keeps! It's extremely, extremely cute. "
