Travelodge in London are steadily increasing their presence in Central London providing much needed budget accommodation. The Travelodge chain along with Premier Inn are the two leading no frills budget chain hotels in the UK in terms of numbers of hotels. Both are expanding fast.

Travelodge follow the no frills model offering clean. modern rooms with none of the frills like rooms service, health suites and a la carte restaurants.
Bedrooms are very similar to 3 star purpose built hotels you find globally. A King Size Bed or two singles (twin room) with TV, desk and tea and coffee facilities. Some hotels have family rooms where the kids are expected to use a sofa bed.
Bathrooms normally have a full size bath with a powerful shower. No toiletries are supplied, not even soap. Towels are provided.

Reception is 24 hours but don't expect spacious lounges. There will normally be vending machines. The larger, newer sites are installing basic bar/cafe facilities. Like most hotels in Central London very few have parking facilities, the Liverpool Street Travelodge is an exception to the rule.
Saver Room Rates
Saver room rates at Travelodge are one of the accommodation bargains in Central London. Rates are discounted 50-60% or more and start from £19 up to £59.
The further you book ahead the better your chance of getting a saver rate.
Every once in a while Travelodge make available a tranche of 'saver rate' rooms and they soon go.
Availability seems to be best at the Travelodge hotels in the Kings Cross area.
