If money was no object then nearly everybody wanting to get from Heathrow Airport to Central London would take the Heathrow Express train.
Unfortunately for most, cost is a major parameter in selecting their transfer choice.

The cheapest transfer into London is the Heathrow London Underground Service
What the Heathrow Express offers is speed and comfort.
The trains are frequent (every 15 minutes) and from Terminals 1 and 3 run non-stop to London’s Paddington Station in 15 minutes (at least 3 times faster than any vehicle). From Terminals 4 and 5 its 5-10 minutes more.
There are quiet carriages, free wi-fi and in short an agreeable spacious environment, far more comfortable than most vehicles.
So what’s the downside?
Well, for most people cost is the major reason not to use the Heathrow Express train. If there are 3 of you it may well be cheaper to hire a private car to many hotel districts.
The London terminus at Paddington is in the north-west corner of Central London. If you’re staying somewhere like Earls Court or Victoria you’re still a long way away from your hotel and certainly for Earls Court and Gloucester Road areas is would be quicker just to get the Underground at a fraction of the cost, though not as comfortably.
At busy times the Heathrow Express can also get very crowded, a victim of its own success. If you’re really unlucky, you may pay a premium price to stand-up and “quiet carriages” may end up full of noisy kids.
But the majority of the time its perhaps the most reliable, fastest and stress free way to get to and from Heathrow Airport from the centre of London.
