Where Is The Best Place To Join My Day Tour From London?
With such world class attractions as Stonehenge, Oxford, Bath, Windsor, Stratford Upon Avon to name just a few within easy reach of London, day tours are very popular with visitors. Every day (including Christmas Day) a fleet of tour buses will drive out of London for a very full day of sightseeing not returning until early evening.
The day tours have all left London by 8:30 a.m. at the lastest so all tours offer multiple pick-up points as a minimum. London is a spread out city with hotels sread out over a wide area. Most of the full size bus tours will offer a courtesy hotel pick-up service between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. from designated hotels in the major hotel districts.
But if your hotel is not on the list or you are staying outside London where is the best place to join a tour?
Stumped? – Well just ask Bob at the discussion facility below saying which tour you are going on and where you are staying!

We are planning a to book the Windsor, Stonehenge, Bath day-trip tour. We are staying at the Hilton London Tower Bridge. Where is the best location to catch the bus?
Thank you in advance
The most convenient would be to walk across Tower Bridge. On the other side is the Guoman Tower Hotel.
The Guoman Tower is one of the first hotel pick-ups around 7 a.m., you could choose to walk to London Bridge and make your way using the Underground to Victoria where the main tour departs from after 8 a.m.
I would like to book the Windsor, stonehenge and Bath tour…I stay at Tune hotel that is near kingcross station.Where is the nearest pick up point?Do i need to inform any staff that i will wait at there? Also, What time do i need to be at pick-point?up
The nearest pick-up is the Travelodge Kings Cross Royal Scott at 110 Kings Cross Rd very close to your accommodation around 7:10 a.m.
The bus only visits pick-up hotels if there are people booked on the tour with the hotel stated as their pick-up.
You cannot just wait for the bus at taht time expecting to pay as you board the bus,
wauw i am a little disappointed.
On yr website (http://www.londontoolkit.com/travel/southampton_london_hotel_listing.html) you advertise that there is apickup at 07.40 at stanley house to take the bus / coach to dover to catch the cruise. so we check the hotel booked believe or not the last room leaving london wednesday july 3th. then we wentto the webside to the coach and we found out that a) there is no buservice to dover that day goingto the cruise terminal (only to ferry) and thatthen fcourse also no possibility to travel to dover castle as advertised/mentioned on yr website. furthere more there is nt even a pickup at the hotel but only at the station victoria half a mile down the road.
sadly to say we are more the disappointed by yr info. question now is: who is right???
i fear yr wrong
I think you are getting confused between the cruise bus and the National Express scheduled bus.
The cruise bus picks up from the Stanley Hotel at 7:40 a.m. as described and take you to the cruise eterminal.
The National Express bus runs many scheduled services a day between Victoria Coach Station and Dover Town and Dover Ferry Terminal. From the Ferry Terminal to the cruise terminal is a £8 taxi fare.
The National Express bus is a lot cheaper than the cruise bus. Its luggage allowance may well be less than your flight allowance.
We are interested in shuttle from London to Southampton via Stonhenge on June 22 2013.
We are staying at Holiday Inn Kensington Forum Hotel 97 Cromwell Rd – what would be our
nearest hotel for pickup as this hotel is not on hotel pickup list
The Millenium Gloucestre Hotel is a pick-up hotel and opposite your hotel.
What is the nearest pick up point if we are staying at The Shaftesbury Premier London
Paddington?
The closest pick-up is the Hilton Paddington that forms the front of Paddington Railway Station on the next block to your hotel.
I am staying at the Ibis Blackfriars on 49 Blackfriars Road, Southwark and would like to catch the Southampton bus on Saturday the 25th. Will they pick me up there? It’s not on the list. If not, what is the closest they’ll come?
The closest pick-up hotel is the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge at County hall about 1km from your hotel.
Hi. Just wonder if I live in 35 Marylebone Hall, Marylebone Road, where is the nearest pick-up points I should go?
Thanks heaps!
Nearest pick-up would be the Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes Hotel around the corner in Baker Street
We are staying at the Thistle Hyde Park Hotel at Lancaster Gate. We need transportation to Brilliance of the Seas on June 20, 2013 and transportation from the Brilliance of the Seas to Heathrow on July 2, 2013. Where is the nearest pickup for the Thistle Hyde Park Hotel and the drop off at Heathrow?
William
The Lancaster Gate Hotel, 66 Lancaster Gate is directly behind your hotel.
We are booked into the Stafford Hotel (St. James Place 16-18). Can you tell us the closest pickup point for the Windsor, Stonehenge, and Bath tour? Thank you
Closest pick-up to the Stafford is the Rotz Hotel behind your hotel.
Dear Bob: wich is your sugggestion if I am staying at the Grand Royal London Hyde Park Hotel, to take the bus to Sotuhampton ?
The Berjaya Eden Park Hotel is at 35 Inverness Palace, your hotel is 1-9 Inverness Terrace a few doors down.
Hello from Florida! We will be visiting London and staying at The Rathbone Hotel, 30 Rathbone St. We want to join the London Toolkit’s the Windsor, Stonehenge & Bath Day Tour but our hotel is not on a bus pick-up list. Which hotel on a bus route is closest to the Rathbone? Thank you.
The nearest pick-up hotel is The Langham about 5 minutes walk along mortimer street towards Oxfotd Circus
Thank you, Bob
We are staying at the Premier Inn Old Street. Which would be the nearest pick-up hotel for the Bath-and-Stonehenge Tour including access to The Roman Baths?. Thank you.
There is no pick-up hotel within walking distance of Old Street.
You may as well take the London Underground to Victoria and walk to the coach station where the main tour departs from.
We are sailing on the Infinity on August 16 and returning on August 26, 2013 and planning on staying at the Doubletree London Heathrow Airport, 745 Bath Road, Cranford at both ends of the cruise. Can you pick us up and drop us off at this Doubletree? Thanks!
At the moment the cruise bus only does drop offs at the DoubleTree Hilton Heathrow.
Its one of the remotest hotels at Heathrow and at the moment pick-ups are not done, the nearest pick-up hotel being the Holiday Inn Ariel about a mile towards the airport.
However I have been told there are going to be adjustments to the Heathrow Hotels this week with some more hotels added.
I do not know the detail of the hotels but if you can hang on a week the DoubleTree may appear on the new list this time next week.
We are interested in transfer to cruise port in Dover & Windsor, Stonehenge & Bath tours. Staying at Mercure Kensington. What is closest pick up hotel? Thank you.
The nearest pick-up hotel is the Park International Hotel about 200 yards further along the Cromwell Road towards Gloucester Road Underground on the other side of the road.
Hi,
I’m looking to take the Southampton Cruise Ship Coaches and have 2 questions :
- All tours go to Stonehenge?
- What is the nearest pick-up place of the Apex Temple Court Hotel
Frank
All the Southampton cruise buses stop for one hour at Stonehenge, if you don’t go in and just have a coffee or stroll the Stonehenge landscape that is fine.
There is no pick-up within walking distance of the Apex Temple Court as its outside the main hotel districts where the bus visits in a coomercial district. The nearest is the Strand Palace Hotel about 1 km away.
Hi Bob,
I’m taking the London Toolkit Stonehenge/Bath day tour. I am staying at the Crowne Plaza Heathrow, Stockley Road. The hotel is on the ‘For Cruise Journeys Only’ list. I dont know what that means but pickup is at 9am. Will i get picked up at 9am for this tour or do i have to make my way to the city to get picked up?
I’m afraid none of the day tours out of London pick-up at Heathrow, you would have to come into Central London to join such tours.
The special cruise ship services are the only exception.
We are staying at 9 Kensington Gardens Square at the Kensington Gardens hotel. Where is the nearest pick up?
Best,
CMoore
The Best Western Phoenix Hotel also on Kensington Garden Square is a pick-up hotel.
We are staying at the Judd Hotel, Cartwright Gardens London in July. What is the nearest hotel for a coach pickup to Harwich for the Cruise terminal?
The nearest pick-up hotel is the Tavistock Hotel on Tavistock Square about 300 yards from your accommodation.
Next door to the Tavistock is the Royal National Hotel which is a much larger hotel and a large reception area where you can watch the arrival of coaches in the courtyard outside.
Bob,
We are staying at a The Ruben’s on Buckinghan Place. What is the nearest hotel pick-pu for the shuttle bus to Harwick?
Thank you.
Linda C.
The nearest pivk-up is the Grosvenor Victoria Hotel which forms part of Victoria Railway Station about 150 yards from the Rubens
Thanks Bob.
Most helpful.
We are staying at the Premier Inn London Victoria and want to go to the Dover Cruise Port on July 27th. Where is the closest pickup? Also, my sister is staying at the Hilton Heathrow terminal 5 and will be going to the Dover Port the same day. Is there a pickup location nearby?
The Comfort Inn Victoria would be the closest pick-up about 0 yards from the Premier Inn Victora.
There is only one hotel at Terminal 5, the Sofitel. If that is the hotel your sister is staying at then that is a pick-up hotel.
If your sister is staying at the Premier Inn Terminal 5 then that is a pick-up too but its a mile or two from Terminal 5 itself.
I’ll be in London the first week of August. Our hotel is the Cavendish Hotel on 75 Gower Street. Please, what’s the nearest pick up point? Thank you.
You don’t say which specific tour or service but unless its a small group tour the Royal National Hotel is a pick-up hotel for most tours and is about 400m from your accommodation by Russell Square
If I am staying at the Charlotte Guest Hotel at 195 Sumatra Rd in West Hampstead, which is the closest pick up stop?
Thanks
Geographically the closest pick-up hotel is the Marriott Regents Park at Swiss Cottage which isn’t that far away.
However this is the first pick-up of the day at 7 a.m. and you might just want to take the Underground to Victoria where the main tour departs from over an hour later.
We will stay at Euro Hotel , 53 Cartwright Gardens. Where is the nearest pick up point.
Closest pick-up is the Tavistock Hotel about 300 yards away on Tavistock Square
Hello – we will be staying at the Richmond Gate Hotel, Richmond Park, Surrey. What would be the best pickup point and at what time (must consider early London traffic).
With thanks.
As you say using a vehicle to get into London is not a great idea.
Most tours have their main departure point from Victoria Coach Station, so from your hotel just walk down the hill into Richmond and get the train to Victoria changing at Clapham Junction.
If you are going on a tour west of London to places like Stonehenge, Bath, Windsor etc the bus will probably offer a drop at Gloucester Road Underground with direct trains every few minutes back to Richmond.
Both train and underground are covered by Oyster or Travelcard tickets
Hi. We are staying at The Beauchamp on Bedford Place in Bloomsbury. We are interested in the Stonehenge & Bath tour. Which hotel would be the closest pick up for us? Thank you!
Bedford Place runs into Russell Square a major garden square around which there are several pick-up hotels.
Whilst not the closest of the pick-up hotels around Russell Square, its on the other side of the square, I would suggest selecting the Royal National Hotel as you can sit in the large reception and see the coaches pulling into the courtyard area.
Hi Bob,
I plan to reserve Windsor, Stonehenge & Bath Tour. My family and I will stay at King cross Inn hotel. Which hotel that is included in your pick up list should I select? or If I go directly to Victoria station, when will the bus depart?
If you walk further along the Euston Road from your hotel past St Pancras Station and the British Library the Pullman Hotel St Pancras is a pick-up hotel next to the British Library about 300 yards away.
Hello,
I will stay at saint christopher inn village near Borough undergroud station
what will the closes pick up point for Windsor, Stonehenge & Bath Day Tour
thanks
Altough there are pick-ups at the Guoman Tower Hotel opposite the Tower of London, its still a 10-15 minute walk and this is one of the first hotel pick-ups at 7 a.m.
From Borough you may as well take the Underground to the start point of the tour at Victoria over an hour later.
If we are staying at the London House Hotel in Bayswater, where is the nearest hotel to pick up the bus from London to Harwich cruise port. Thank you Kathleen
Nearest pick-up is the Best Western Phoenix Hotel also in Kensington Square about 50 yards away.
Thank you!!!! I can’t believe you do all this work for us travelers, but it is appreciated very much!!!
Katthleen
Hi Bob
We are staying at the Best Western Victoria Palace located at 60-64 Warwick Way, Victoria and will be taking the cruise shuttle to Dover on July 15. This hotel is not on your hotel list. Where is the nearest pick up point to our hotel?
The nearest hotel pick-up is the Dover Hotel on Belgrave Road the opposite side of the road from your hotel
I booked the tune hotel that is near king cross station.I’m going to reserve Windsor, Stonehenge & Bath Tour . Which hotel that is included in your pick up list should i select?
Assuming this is the full size bus tour at £73 nearest pick-up is the Travelodge Kings Cross Royal Scott Hotel, about 5 minutes walk.
THough note there is anothe Travelodge also at Kings Cross.
We will be staying at the Premier Shaftesbury London Piccadilly, 65 Shaftesbury Ave, London, Piccadilly and taking the cruise ship shuttle to Dover. Can you tell me where the nearest pick-up location would be since our hotel is not on the list?
Thanks!
The nearest pick-up hotel would be the Guoman Charing Cross that forms the front of Charing Cross Station on one side of Trafalgar Square.
What would be the closest drop off point to The Euro Hotel, 51-53 Cartwright Gardens, Camden. We are looking at the return cruise ship bus on June 20th.
Thank you
In terms of drops we will try and get you as close to the front door of the Euro Hotel as the vehicle can manage.
Put the Euro Hotel as your drop hotel. Worst case scenario is you will have to walk 50 yards becuase the bus cannot get into the crescent that is Cartwright Gardens
Hi Bob,
We plan to take the one day tour to Stonehenge, Bath and Windsor. We will be staying at 196 Bishopsgate, London. Where is the nearest hotel pick up?
Thank you in advance for your advice.
The geograghically closest is the Guoman Tower hotel across the road from the Tower of London at the northern end of Tower Bridge.
But this is one of the earliest hotel pick-ups at 6:55 a.m., so you may as well just take the London Underground direct from Liverpool Street to Victoria and join the tour at the main departure point Victoria Coach Station at around 8 p.m.
We are interested in doing the Stratford upon Avon, Cotswolds, Bath & Stonehenge day trip. I will be staying in Rotherfield St Islington can you tell me what the closest hotel pick up to this address would be thanks.
Geographically the nearest pick-up is the Pullman Hotel at Kings Cross/st Pancras but this is over an hour before the main tour departure at Victoria so its probably best to go straight to Victoria.
The Grosvenor Victoria Hotel is part of Victoria Train Station at around 7:55 or you can walk up to Victoria Coach Station from where the main tour departs.
We are staying at Tune Hotel Kings Cross. Am interested in the Cotswold & Avon tour. Which would the nearest pick up? Thanks.
Closet pick up would be the Travelodge Kings Cross Royal Scott, 100 Kings Cross Road.
Note there are 2 Travelodges very close together at Kings Cross
We are staying at the Premier Inn London County Hall. Does the London to Dover Cruise Shuttle Bus pickup at that hotel? If not, what is the nearest pickup location? Our date is June 29, 2013
The Premier Inn County Hall is in the same building as the Marriott County Hall which is a pick-up hotel.
We are staying at the Park Plaza Victoria London on Vauxhall Bridge Road and would like to take the bus to the Dover cruise port. Which stop would we choose? Thanks!
Nearest pick up hotel is the Grosvenor Victoria Hotel which is part of Victoria Rail Station.
From the Park Plaza you walk into the station, the Grosvenor is the other side of the station. The bus stops in front of reception on the Buckingham Palace Road.
Cotswolds and Stratford from Kenilworth Hotel. What is nearest pick-up?
The nearest pick-up to the Radisson Kenilworth is the St Giles Hotel about 100 yards around the corner.
i will stay at the tavistock hotel .i will need a ride on june 14 2013. do you have a stop there
thank you
The Tavistock Hotel is a pick-up hotel for most services, you do not say which tour or service you are interested in but it will be on that services tour/service detail page.
We will be staying at the Hyatt hotel in London just off Hyde Park in June…The Churchill. We are booking a cruise transfer tour to get to Southhampton via Stonehenge. What is the closest pick-up point?
The closest pick-up hotel to the Hyatt Churchill on Portman Square is the Cumberland Hotel about 100 yards away.
Hi Bob,
I’ll be staying at the Novotel Greenwich in July 2013 and I was just thinking about daytrips from there to Stonehenge or Oxford. Is there any possiblity of some pick-up service in Greenwich? Thank you very much in advance!
I’m afraid none of the tour buses will come out to Greenwich to do pick-ups.
You will have to journey into London for all tours.
Stonehenge, Oxford and most sights are the other side of London from Greenwich so you will find it very tedious every day journeying into the centre.
We want to book a tour to Stonehenge and Bath tomorrow. We stay with a friend 5-minute walk from the Old Street tube station. Where is the nearest pick-up spot? We will book the tour as soon as I hear from you. Thank you.
There are two Stonehenge and Bath Tours.
The cheaper one not including entrance to the Roman Baths you may as well join at the main tour departure point at Victoria Coach Station.
The one including the Ronan Baths there is a pick-up at Kings Cross / St Pancras.
We’ll be staying at the Premier Inn London in Knaresborough Pl, Kengsington and want to plan a tour to Stonehenge and Bath for the 1st June 2013. Which is the recommended tour, closest pick-up site and time.
The closest pick-up is the Best Western Burns Hotel on Barkston Gardens under 5 minutes walk from your hotel.
Reception at the Premier Inn will direct you.
We are staying at St. David’s Hotel (14-20 Norfolk Square). We are taking the Leeds, Castle, Canterbury, Dover and Greenwich Day Tour. What would be the best pick-up spot for us?
Thanks!
The nearest pick-up is around the corner from Norfolk Square at Paddington Station
The Hilton Paddington forms the front of Paddington Station and is the pick-up point.
We are arriving via the Eurostar from Paris on Friday evening August 16. I believe it arrives at St. Pancras Station. We need a hotel (inexpensive) for the night that will both be near the station and pick up the South Hampton Cruise Tour from London to South Hampton on Saturday morning August 17 (or one very close by a pickup Hotel). Can you help with a reccomendation?
People’s ideas of inexpensive can mean different things to different people.
There are a lot of small cheap hotels (for London) opposite St Pancras Station around Argyle Square if price is your main purchasing decision.
The Crestfield, Meridiana and Wardonia get good feedback of this type.
Note these are simple hotels, no air conditioning and most will not have lifts.
See: http://www.londontoolkit.com/accommodation/kings_cross_bed_breakfast.htm
The best no frills option is the Premier Inn Kings Cross, kings Cross Station is next door to St Pancras.
The pick-up hotel in this area is the Pullman Hotel St Pancras which is 4 star hotel, very good but not inexpensive.
About 600 yards up the Euston Road from St Pancras is Euston Station.
The Ibis Euston and Premier Inn Euston are budget 3 star hotels by the station.
The pick-up hotel here is the Thistle Euston
http://www.londontoolkit.com/accommodation/euston.htm
We are arriving at Heathrow Terminal 3 on June 17th at 6:30AM. On the maps it appears that the Renisance Hotel is the best pick-up point for the bus transfer. Would we have time to get through Immigration, customs, baggage pick-up and get to the hotel in time (9:00-9:30 a.m.) for transfer from LHR via Stonehenge to SOUTHAMPTON?
Thanks very much.
Rosalia and Bill
It normally takes 45 to 75 minutes to get through customs and get your luggage.
Hoppa buses to the Rennaissance go about every 20 minutes from T3 and take 10-15 minutes and cost £4 per person.
we will be staying at the premier inn county hall and wish to take the bus to southampton cruise port don’t see it on the list
please advise
thanks carol’
The Premier Inn County Hall is in the same building as the Marriott County Hall which is a pick-up hotel.
Hi Bob,
We’ll be staying in Travelodge London Bethnal Green and intend to take the Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Bath day tour. Where would the closest pick-up place be for us or would it be easier if we just went straight to Victoria Coach Station?
Many thanks!
I guess technically the Guoman Tower Hotel by Tower Bridge is the closest, but its pick-ups are over an hour before tour departure from Victoria so going straight to Victoria looks a good move.
We will be staying at the Kensington Town House, London. Where is the nearest pick-up for the Windsor, Stonehenge & Bath Day Tour?
The nearest pick-up hotel is the Best Western Burns Hotel on Barkston Gardens.
You will get very used to walking between your hotel and Earls Court Underground.
Barkston Gardens is about one minute further along the Earls Court Road after the tube station on your left.
We are going on the stonehenge/windsor/bath + pub lunch tour on Sept. 1st. We are staying at the Lancaster Gate Hotel (66-71 Lancaster Gate London, England W2 3NA). Our hotel is not on the pick up list, can you tell me which hotel will be the closest pick up for us? Thanks!
The Commodore Hotel at 50 Lancaster Gate is a pick-up hotel about 50 yards away.
There’s 2 of us and would like to join the tour to windsor, bath and stoneedge. We stay at St Christopher’s Inn, London Bridge, 121 Borough High street. Can your company pick us up at our hostel? We would like to join the tour on 24.5.2013.
London Bridge is not an area where the tour buses pick up from
The nearest pick-up is the Guoman Tower by the Tower Of London at 7 a.m. But you may as well make your way to the main departure point at Victoria Coach Station where the tour leaves around 8:15 a.m.
Hello,
I will be staying at the Acacia Hotel for 10 days, and I would very much like to take part in the tours presented on your website (Stonehenge, for one).
The hotel’s address is :
14 Queensberry Place, London, SW7 2EA, England
Which would be the nearest pick up point?
Follow-up question:
When we book on the internet, does the price has to be paid in full, or is it more like an advanced deposit (and we then pay when we get there)?
Thanks so much for your help!
– Philippe
For most of the tours out of London you will probably find a pick-up option at the Gallery Hotel a couple of doors down from your hostel.
For all tours you have to pay in full up front and you cannot change your mind a day or so prior if you change your mind or the weather doesn’t look great.
hi
we plan to live at heathrow ….and do the cotswolds n avon tour for 79 pounds….will we get a pick up from there? to…victoria?
Then i will book my hotel accordingly
None of the day tours from London have pick-ups at Heathrow Airport or Hotels.
The nearest pick-ups are in Earls Court Kensington or from the main departure point.
Given the cost and time of getting from a Heathrow hotel into London, you may want to look at staying in London itself.
Hi Bob,
We will be staying at a flat (12 Kensington Court Place, London W8).
Where’s the closest pick-up point for full day Stonehenge and Bath tour?
Nearest pick-up is Citadines Kensington on the Gloucester Road a very short walk from your address.
Hi Bob, we stay in London Waterloo Hotel. Where is the closest point to join the bus for Windsor, Stonehenge & Bath Tour?
The pick-up hotels at Waterloo Station are a cluster of hotels across the road at County Hall, the Marriott County Hall, Park Plaza County Hall and the Park Plaza Westminter Bridge.
My wife, mother in law and I are considering options for transport from the Harwich pier at the conclusion of our Celebrity Infinity cruise on May 24 to our hotel, the Doubletree Heathrow. Can you let us know the closest drop off?
Thank you,
Randy
The cruise bus will drop you off at the DoubleTree Hilton Heathrow.
Its just in the reverse direction the cruise bus doesn’t do pick-ups at this hotel.
I am staying in a flat along Cassilis Road London E14 near South Quay station. What is the nearest pick up point?
The nearest pick-up geographic location is the Guoman Tower Hotel by Tower Hill DLR .
However this is one of the first pick-ups and you might well just go to Victoria where the main tour departs an hour later.
Hi Bob,
What a wonderful website!
We will be staying at the Waldorf Hilton and wish to take a coach to our cruise on the Oceania Marina from Southampton on August 10th.Please advise if there is a pick up from that Hotel or if there is one nearby which we should board the coach?
Thanks
The nearest pick-up to the Waldorf is the Strand Palace Hotel a couple of hundred yards further up The Strand.
Hi Bob-
We’re staying at The Green Man Hostel at 308 Edgware Road. What would be the best hotel for pickup for the Stonehenge, Bath, Windsor tour?
Thanks much!
The Hilton Metropole hotel is right by your hostel and is a pick- up hotel.
Thanks, Bob! So helpful!
What would be the closest hotel pick up to Aldgate East tube station? The Doubletree Tower of London is listed but doesn’t come up on the drop down menu for the tour. We want to do the Stonehenge Bath tour.
Which tour is this?
It should be there
Stonehenge and Bath Day Tour
An alternative is the Guoman Tower Hotel across the road from The Tower of London next to Tower Bridge
We wish to take the Dover Cruise Terminal Shuttle from Victory Services Club, Seymour St. on June 17th. Where is the nearest pickup & what time please?
The nearest pick-up would be the Cumberland hotel on Marble Arch at around 7:35 a.m.
We will be staying at Notting Hill hotel (about 1 to 2 blocks far from Notting Hill metro station), where shall we go to take the tour?. Thank you.
Nearest hotel would be the London Hyde Park Hotel, 150 Bayswater Road
closest hotel pickup to blue bells hotel 14 Pembridge square
The nearest pick-up would be the Bayswater Inn in neighbouring princes Square
Any other options at a later pick up time? Bayswater is 7:10 am and I’m traveling with teenagers. If that’s the only option, we’ll obviously do it.
Afraid its just the one pick-up
It seems that St. Giles Hotel pick-up is closest to us (we’re staying on St. Giles High St., near Tottenham tube). However, I read somewhere that you must be a guest of that hotel to be picked up there. Is that true? If not, can you please confirm that St. Giles Hotel pick-up is best for us? Otherwise, is the Strand Palace near Covent Garden tube second-best? Thank you, Bob!
If you are on St Giles High Street the St Giles Hotel is the closest pick-up.
I am not aware of any restriction at the St Giles Hotel if you wait quietly in the reception area
Hello Bob! My hotel is London Central Southwark. Please tell me where is nearest pick up to Stonehenge morning half day trip. Hou to get to Windsor with public transport?
Thanks in advance.
Not sure exatly where “central Southwark” is, I imagine somewhere around the Tate Modern Gallery.
There are direct trains from nearby Waterloo Station to Windsor about every 30 minutes I think. If you are going to the castle you can buy a combined rail and castle ticket taht saves a little money.
For the stonehenge only trip the afternoon tour departs from Victoria. The morning tour has hotel pickups at County Hall by Waterloo Station about 7:30 a.m.
The Park Plaza Westminster Bridge is one of the easier hotels to find at County hall.
Bear in mind this half day tour you’ll be travelling at least 5 hours with only 1 hour at Stonehenge.
If you have time I’d urge you to do the Bath & Stonehenge tour which is all day and a nice relaxed pace or even the Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath tour which is a very long day with little time to dwell.
I’ll be staying at the Hotel Indigo-Tower Hill. Where is the closest pick up point for the Stonehenge shuttle to Southhampton?
Thanks
The nearest pick-up is the DoubleTree Hilton Tower of London, about 350 yards from your hotel
Hi, my wife and I will be in London and staying on Bow Common Lane, East London, E3 4AU. We wish to go on the Leeds Castle, Dover & Canterbury tour commencing from Victoria Coach Station. My closest underground station is Miles End. What is the more convenient pick up hotel we could go and at what time? Thanks very much,
Colin
From Mile End you may as well go direct on the underground to Victoria.
There are a couple of hotels by the Tower of London which is much closer to Mile End but they are one of the first pick-ups an hour or so before the bus leaves Victoria.
The fare is the same to Victoria as it is Tower Hill on the Underground.
There is a pick-up at the Grosvenor Hotel Victoria that forms part of the train/underground station at Victoria at around 7:55.
This is the last pick-up of the hotel pick-up bus service and the bus drives about 600 yards down the road to Victoria Coach Station where you switch to your tour bus for the day.
You might well just walk directly to the coach station where the main tour departs from instead of waiting for the pick-up bus.
Hi Bob, Please let me know the closest pickup hotel for Harwich cruise terminal to the Radisson Hotel at Seven Dials in Covent Gardens.
Can you clarify which Radisson hotel as they have several in that area of London.
We will be staying at the Trafalgar Square Hotel (Hilton), is there a pick up location close by?
Can you clarify for which tour?
Hi Bob!
I will be staying at the London Backpacker’s hostel on Queens Road in London when I come at the end of the month, and I wanted to know the closest pick up for the Stonehenge/Bath tour. Thank you!
Meredith
Looking at the map your hotsel is by Hendon Central Underground Station.
From there you can get the tube direct to Kings Cross / St Pancras.
There are 2 Bath and Stonehenge tours, both of which have pick-ups around KIngs Cross / St Pancrastation.
The cheaper tour, the one without admission to the Roman Baths picks up from the Pulmman St Pancras Hotel, about 200 yards from St Pancras Station next to the British Library
thank you bob!! =)
Hi Bob
I am staying at St Pancras way which is at Camden area, may I know which is the nearest pick-up place for tour to Bath, Stonehenge n Windsor?
Thank you
The physically closest pick-up would be the Pullman St Pancras Hoel next to the British Library and St Pancras Station on the Euston Road, St Pancras.
However the pick-up is one of the first and you might want to simpkly get the tube to Victoria and join the tour there about an hour after the pick-up at St Pancras.
Hi,
I am staying near Canary Wharf. Where should I go to meet a tour? Also, is there a day during the week you would recommend going?
Thank you.
No tour comes out to Canary Wharf so you are going to need to get the DLR or Underground into Central London.
Different tours have different pick-up points so its hard to give a definitive answer without knowing the tour in question.
Most tours go to the West of London, the other side of London to Canary Wharf so normally you will need to get the Underground to somewhere like Victoria or Marble Arch. Some tours pick up by the Tower of London but if you do this you may spend an hour on the bus doing a hotel pick-up run across London.
My wife and I are planning to take the Leeds/Canterbury/Dover Tour with Premium through London Toolkit. There is no pickup listed for Ridgemount Hotel 65-67 Gower Street. What would you suggest as the best pickup location in that area?
Thank you.
The nearest pick-up hotel is the Royal National Hotel behind your hotel near Russell Square about 500 yards away
We would like to take the In depth Cotswold and Stratford Tour in June and will be staying at Park Plaza Victoria what is the nearest pick up point from there please
The nearest pick-up would be the Grosvenor Victoria Hotel that is part of Victoria Station.
From the Park Plaza the bus stop is at the main entrance to the hotel on Buckingham Palace Road which is the other side of the station to the Park Plaza. You can walk into the Grosvenor Hotel from within the station and walk through reception to the main entrance the other side of the building.
Interested in the Cruise Bus on August 19th for the Brilliance Of The Seas, we are staying at the Holiday Inn Express T5. Where is the closest pickup point and how far is it from our hotel?
Thanks
The Holiday Inn Express Terminal 5 is about 4 or 5 miles from Terminal 5 and the airport and the cruise bus doesn’t go out that far.
The nearest cruise bus pick-up would be the Sheraton Heathrow about 3 miles away.
You might want to consider switching to the Premier inn Terminal 5 which is at least as good as the HI Express and normally cheaper. It is a pick-up hotel and you have the option of using the free 423 red London bus to get to the hotel fron T5 rather than the £4 per person the hotel shuttles charcge.
Hi, We´ll stay by Panton Street, which stop do you recommend us for Stonehenge and Bath day tour (58 pounds)? Thanks a lot.
Victoria Station would be the nearest.
The number 38 bus runs from Piccadilly Circus to Victoria Station
we’ll be staying at the Premier Inn County Hall–where is the nearest hotel pick up? Thanks, Sharon
The Marriott County Hall is a pick-up hotel and is in the same building as the Premier Inn County hall
We are interested in the Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath tour in May. What is the best pick up point if we’re staying at the Holiday Inn Mayfair?
Thanks!
Nearest pick-up is the Ritz Hotel at the bottom of the road next to Green Park Underground Station
Hi Bob! My sister and I are on a Celebrity cruise leaving Harwich port on Sept. 30th. We will be staying at the Grange Rochester Hotel on Vincent Square the night before and wish to book a bus transfer on The London Toolkit site. I noticed that our hotel is not listed as one of the pickup points. Could you tell me which hotel is closest to us so we can catch the bus from there?
Thank you so much for your time!
Personally I would opt for the Crowne Plaza St James Hotel on Buckingham Gate about 600 yards from your hotel.
I would like to do the Stonehenge and Bath full-day tour. I will be staying in East Dulwich so can you please tell me where would be best for me to meet the tour or pick-up..
I guess a lot depends on where in Esat Dulwich you are staying.
Assuming your nearest train station is North Dulwich I’d get a train to Charing Cross, changing train at London Bridge.
The Guoman Charing Cross hotel is a pick-up hotel and forms the front of Charing Cross Station.
Where is the closest pick up for the Shaftesbury Premier London Paddington?
thanks
Can you clarify for which service?
Hi Bob,
Travelling with teenaged Girl Scouts(Guides) and staying at Meininger Hostel (Baden Powell House) on Queens Gate, S. Kensington. It appears The Gallery or Grange Strathmore are the closest hotel pickups–do you agree?
While we have travelled to London before, the entire London Toolkit site is amazingly helpful for planning details. Thanks so much. Mary
Yes, the Grange Strathmore is very close.
hi
Am coming to London on August 17th and then taking the Brilliance on Aug. 19.
Looking for a hotel near the British Museum and also on the Harwich Bus Cruise line.
thanks
Hotels in the immediate vicinity of Russell Square / British Museum that are pick-up hotels for the cruise bus are the St Giles Hotel, Royal National Hotel, Russell Hotel and President Hotel.
There are plenty of other hotels within about 400 yards of one of these including the Holiday Inn Bloomsbury and DoubleTree Hilton West End
Greetings Bob
I am staying at the Caesar Hotel, 26 Queens Gardens Hyde Park. I would love to do the Canterbury tour on Saturday 4th May. Could you drop by the hotel or shall I meet you somewhere close by?
Yolette
The Blakemore hotel is a pick-up hotel and is about 100 yards from your hotel.
Hi Bob
We are staying at the Grand Plaza Apartments at Bayswater. Is that a pickup point? If not which one is the nearest? And what time will we be picked up? We sail on 15th May 2013 for 12 days Scandanavia & Russia cruise on the Brilliance of the seas (Royal Caribbean)
The Grand Plaza Apartments in Bayswater are listed during the booking process as a pick-up location.
Hye Bob,
i am staying at the St. Christopher’s Inn Oasis, 59 Borough High Street, Soutwark; what will be the closest pick-up point for the Windsor, Stonehenge & Bath Day Tour, please advice? Thank you in advance. have a nice day.
cheers,
Yana
There is no pick-up very close to London Bridge.
The nearest pick-up hotel is the Guoman Tower on the other side of the road to the Tower of London at the north end of Tower Bridge. Its about a 15 minute walk or the RV1 bus.
hye again Bob,
well, what time i should be there (the Guoman Tower on the other side of the road to the Tower of London at the north end of Tower Bridge)?
or, if i am straight to Victoria Station, what time i should be there?
Thanks again.
cheers,
Yana
It depends on the tour.
The exact time for that tour will be stated when you select the pick-up point on ordering.
For most tours its about 7 a.m. at the Guoman, an hour later at Victoria.
i am choosing Windsor, Stonehenge & Bath Day Tour on 22 April 2013. meaning, i need to be at Guoman about 6.45am? and if i choose Victoria Station, i need to be there at 7.45am, right?
Sorry again Bob..i have 2 more questions:
1) as mention, tour leaves London around 8:15 a.m. after hotel pick-ups returning to London around 8:00 p.m.
did i have enough time to catch 9pm bus (Eurolines) to my next destination from Victoria coach station? if including the heavy traffic, what the latest time we can reach Victoria coach station?
2) can i bring together my luggage instead of leave it at left luggage storage at victoria coach station?
thanks again.
You can bring your luggage with you on the tour bus.
With regards the arrival time back, 9 times out of 10 the bus will be broadly on time.
But the traffic situation in London is such that it only needs one accident or closed road and the system comes to gridlock, so no absolute guarantee can be given you will get to Victoria in time for your coach.
Hi! Will be staying at the Premier Inn Hotel in Earl’s Court; what will be closest pick-up point for the Cotswolds tour, please? Thanks!
Nearest would be the Best western Burns hotel on Barkston Gardens about 500 yards from your hotel.
Hi
Will be staying at base2stay hotel…nearest pickup for the London to Dover (include the castle) Aug 2013
Nearest pick-up is the Best Western Burns hotel on Barkston Gardens about 100 yards around the cornr.
Hi Bob
Great information-thanks.
We will be staying at the Marble Arch Marriott-what is the nearest pick-up point? The Cumberland?
Not sure which tour you are looking at, but the Marriott Marble Arch is a pick-up hotel for most.
Bob – we will be taking cruise in Oct 2013 and we will take the London Toolkit to Southhampton. What hotel would you recommend to stay at in the Victoria district that is close to the palace and other sights close to walk to: and that the bus tour to Stonehedge/Southhampton will pick up at?
Thanks in advance for your reply! Have a great Easter! Anastasia
It depends on what your budget is, what you want out of a hotel and whether you are staying weekend or during the week.
Unless you are flying into Gtawick Airport, personally I wouldn’t look at Victoria as a place to stay unless there was a great offer from a hotel.
If you can give more information I can give you a better idea of what might suit you.
Personally I would look at the Luna & Simone B&B but the fact it has no air conditioning and no lifts means its not for every one.
What is the closest bus pick up leaving Ibis Heathrow to Harwich cruise port for June 8?
The closest to the Ibis is the Marriott Heathrow about 400 yards further up the Bath Road towards the airport.
I am going to stay at Club Quarters St. Pauls, 24 Ludgate Hill, London, EC4M 7DR. I would like to find out where I can catch the Dover Cruise Transfer Shuttle Bus. Or any other suggestions. Appreciated.
I’m afraid this Club Quarters property by St Paul’s Cathedral in the City of London business area away from where most visitors and hotel districts are.
The nearest pick-up hotel would be the Strand Palace Hotel on Aldwych about a mile up the road from your accommodation.
I will be staying at Penn Club, Bedford Place London. Where is the pick up point for Bus trip to Dover, Canterbury and Greenwich? Thanks Bob, Win
Nearest pick-up hotel would be the Russell Hotel on Russell Square on the other side of the square from your accommodation.
Do you have one of the bus shuttles that picks up at a hotel in terminal 5 at heathrow on the morning of October 4,2013 stops in Stone henge and eventually drops off at the southhampton cruise terminal? If our flight arrives at 7:50 am on that morning in terminal 3 , do we have enough time to catch the bus? Are there any weight or other restrictions on luggage that would result in extra fees?
Buses pick-up at Heathrow hotels around 9 a.m. with a 7:50 a.m. flight the Stonehenge service is not appropiate
National Express operate direct buses to Southampton from T5 about every 2 hours
Hi Bob! We need your help, please. We’ll stay at Goodenough Club, 23 Mecklenburgh Square, London WC1N 2AD and we’re planning to take the London Toolkit – Stonehenge & Bath Day Tour in July. What is the closest hotel we can be picked-up, please?
Closest will be the Holiday Inn Kings cross on Kings Cross Road about 400 yards from your accommodation (note not Holiday Inn Kings Cross/Bloomsbury)
This is for the £45 tour
Ours is £73 tour. Is it the same indication? Thanks in advance!
Ok that will be the Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath tour – still the same Holiday Inn Kings Cross pick-up
Thank you, Bob! This blog is very interesting and helpful. I wish I could introduce you to our students in Brazil. If you are interested in participating in a Hosted Chat, please e-mail me. Then, I can explain you how it works in details. Have a nice evening!
Hello,
We want to book the half day direct trip to Stonehedge. We are staying at 75 Stanhope Gardens near the Gloucester Road Underground. What is the closest pick-up?
The Radisson Vanderbilt, 66/86 Cromwell Road
We plan to stay at Flemings Mayfair Hotel. Where can we catch the London to Harwich cruise transfer bus?
The nearest hotel is the Ritz Hotel on Piccadilly by Green Park Underground Station
Thank you! It looks like the Ritz is very close to Flemings.
Hi Bob
We are staying at the Premier Inn Bankside,34 Park St Southwark London SE1 9EF
Please advise where the nearest drop off/pick up hotel is for a transfer to the Harwich cruise port?
Cheers and thanks
Kayjohn
If you mean the Premier Inn Southark, Bankside you will need a short taxi ride to a pick-up location.
Closest would be the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge at County Hall
Hi, Bob,
We are going to stay in Gloucester place hotel (55 Gloucster place) and planning to book the day tour for Windsor, Stonehenge, Bath. Could you please suggest the nearest picking up place?
Thank you so much!
The Cumberland Hotel at Marble Arch, about 5 minutes walk down to Oxford Street would be the closest pick-up hotel.
Could you please tell me the closest pick-up to Apex City of London Hotel? Thank you so much.
Can you clarify for which service?
Sorry … yes, the Dover Cruise Ship Shuttle.
Nearest pick-up hotel is the DoubleTree Hilton Tower of London about 75 yards from your hotel
Thank you so very much.
Hello Bob, We are staying at St. Ermins and are very interested in the multi-stop tour of stonhenge, windsor, bath and latuck. Is there a nearby hotel that we could be picked up at?
The Crowne Plaza St James on Buckingham Gate is about 200 yards from your hotel and is a pick-up hotel.
Hi, Bob,
We are going to stay in Holiday Inn Mayfair London (3 Berkeley St.) and interested to book the tour for day trip (In Depth Tour of Cotswolds & Stratford Tour Included Highlights) on June 18th. Could you please suggest the nearest picking up place?
Nearest pick-up hotel is the Ritz Hotel about 100 yards away at the bottom of the street
We will be staying at Megaro Hotel near Kings Cross station. Where is the nearest pick up point if we want to join a day tour to Cotswold?
Is there a particular Cotswold Tour you are interested in?
Hi Bob. We will be there in May of 2013 and are staying at Studios2let apartments. We need to know the closest hotel to go to to board a bus for Stonehenge, Bath and Windsor Castle tour. Thanks for the help.
The nearest pick-up hotel is the Tavistock Hotel on Tavistock Square just around the corner from your studio apartments
We are staying at the Thistle Bloomsbury Park hotel on 126 Southampton Row in London. Any suggestions for where I should get picked up for my day tours? Also, is a day tour of Kensington Palace or Hampton Palace necessary or can I just take the tube?
Thanks for your help!
Different tours have different pick-up points, but most will have a pick-up in Russell Square at somewhere like the Russell Hotel a few doors down from you.
You do not need a tour to see Kensington Palace or Hampton Court, indeed you will do well to find such a tour, just travel independently using public transport.
Thank you!
we will be staying at club quarters st paul and cruising may 27 on brillance of the seas where do we catch the cruise bus?
I’m afraid this hotel is in the city, away from the main hotel districts.
The nearest hotel where the cruise bus visits is the Strand Palace Hotel on Aldwych about a mile away from your hotel.
hi,
my wife and i are coming into central bus station heathrow from cornwall where we hope to find a reasonable priced hotel that night for the cruise bus to pick us up the next morning, what hotels doe’s the cruise bus pick up from ?? we would prefer to stay at one of the pick up hotels, i was told they only pick up from sheraton heathrow & premier inn T5, is that true?? we need the cruise coach to Dover on the 12 july.
The full list of Heathrow hotels are:
Premier Inn M4/J4, Premier Inn Terminal 5, Novotel, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn M4/J4, Holiday Inn Bath/Sipson Road, Park Inn, Marriott Heathrow (Bath Rd), Renaissance (Bath Rd), Radisson Edwardian, Sheraton Skyline, Sheraton, Thistle, Arora International, Sofitel, Travelodge Terminal 5, Hilton Terminal 4.
If you are looking for a budget hotel the Premier Inn Terminal 5 is probably going to be your best bet. Itd pretty good, if you added room service, a health club, a large nightclub/lounge and a concierge in it would be as good as most of the 4 stars
As its a Friday night when all the businesmen have gone home the 4 stars cut their prices a lot so its worth checking these out. The Holiday Inn (Bath Road/Sipson Road) and Sheraton are likely suspects to check-out for very competitive prices.
The Hoppa Buses service all of these hotels.
If your National Express Bus also stops at Terminal 5 as well as Heathrow BUs Station you can get the 423 local bus that passes the Premier Inn T5 and Holiday Inn and is free of charge.
We will be staying at the Doubletree by Hilton on Bath Road. Is there a pickup at this hotel? Thank you!
The only tours and transfer tour buses that pick-up at Heathrow are the ones to the crusie terminals
The DoubleTree is a few miles from the airport and the cruise buses don’t go there as it would take too much time. The nearest hotel the cruise bus picks up from is the Marriott Heathrow about 1.5 miles further along the Bath Road towards Heathrow.
We will be staying at the Doubletree Westminster and need a cruise ship bus to Southampton. Will they pickup at our hotel?
Yes you’ll find the DoubleTree Westminster on the pick-up list when you go through the booking process.
My hotel is The Montague on the Gardens, 15 Montague Street, Bloomsbury, London. I plan to take the Leeds Castle, Dover, and Canterbury day tour on a Monday. Which hotel is the nearest pick-up point? Thank you for your assistance.
The nearest pick-up hotel is the Russell Hotel on Russell Square just around the corner from your hotel.
We wnt to take the London to Southhampton tour, including StoneHenge. Our hotel, Cherry Court, which is near Victoria Station, is not on the list. It is at 23 Hugh St London, Greater London SW1V 1QJ, United Kingdom
Where should we catch the tour bus?
Victoria Coach Station is going to be your best bet, just around the corner about 150 yards away from your hotel.
I did not see Victoria Station on the hotel pick up list. What time does the bus pick up at Victoria Station and exactly where will we find it?
Its the first “hotel” on the list:
Victoria Coach Station Gate 3-7 164 Buckingham Palace Rd 08:00 am
I am staying at a B&B near Deptford Bridge station (DLR), what is the nearest/simplest hotel pick up for the one day tour to Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath? Please advise, and thanks for the help!
Probably the easiest option is to get the DLR to Canary Wharf, then get the Jubilee Line to Green Park.
The Ritz Hotel next to Green Park is a pick-up hotel
We are staying at 10 Pembridge Gardens.
What is the closest hotel for a London to Harwich cruise ship bus if we are staying at 10 Pembridge Gardens. Our cruise departure is on Royal Carribean Brilliance of the Seas May 15th.
Thank you in advance for your advice.
The London Hyde Park Hotel is about 300 yards along the Bayswater Road towards Queensway Underground from you and is a pick-up.
This hotel was a Ramada Hotel until last year when it became part of the DoubleTree Hilton chain and some locals may still think of it as the Ramada
Thank you very much Bob!
.
Bob,
I am arriving in London via Eurostar on July 13. I require transportation on July 14 to Harwich for a cruise on Royal Caribbean International ‘Brilliance of the Sea’. Is there a hotel near the Eurostar station where a cruise bus can pick me up. Thank you in advance for your advice.
The Pullman St Pancras is about 100 yards from St Pancras Station and is a pick-up hotel.
This is a 4 star hotel. If you are not particularly looking for a full service hotel then the Premier inn St Pancras about 100 yards the other way is a very good no frills hotel.
About 600 yrads from St Pancras is Euston Station.
There is a good mix of hotels here to suit different budgets / needs.
The Thistle Euston is a pick-up hotel.
The pages below give you a cross section of hotels in the St Pancras and Euston area
http://www.londontoolkit.com/accommodation/st_pancras.htm
http://www.londontoolkit.com/accommodation/euston.htm
Bob
We are staying at the Apex at the London wall. Where is the closet tour pick up from there to Stonehedge to South Hampton August 16,2013 Princess Cruises
Nearest pick-up hotel is the DoubleTree Hilton Tower of London on Peops Street.
My wife and self are flying from Australia on Emirates Flights EK0413 to Dubai, then EK0001 on 10-11 July 2013 into Heathrow Airport at 12:15pm. Please advise best way to get to Comfort Hotel Heathrow, Shepiston Lane.
We are staying at the Comfort Hotel Heathrow on night 11-12 July 2013.
Booked on cruise line Princess Cruises ship “Sea Princess” sailing 5:00pm Friday 12 July 2013. Please advise nearest pick-up point for Dover Cruise Terminal on morning 12 July.
Thank you.
There are Hoppa Buses from the Heathrow Terminal to the Comfort Hotel at Heathrow, currently 4 GBP per person
The nearest pick-up hotel for the cruise bus is the Premier Inn M4/J4 about half a mile away
Bob,
Thank you for your prompt reply. I notice on The London ToolKit -’Central London and Heathrow to Dover with optional Dover Castle–1 day’ that the coach service to Dover only runs on those dates when Princess Line ships are STARTING or ENDING at Dover. I also noticed coach dates are 3rd and 15th July 2013..
The cruise on “Sea Princess” actually starts and finishes in Sydney (Australia), a cruise of 101 days. We are booked on the World Cruise Sector Dover to Sydney from 12 July to 2 September 2013 – 51 days.
. QUESTION : will the coach from Heathrow Hotels to Dover be scheduled to operate on 12 July? If not alternatives please ??? Thank you again …VIC
Yes, a mistake.
Someone is adding that date, perhaps it will be live by the time you read this.
We are travelling by Dover cruise ship tour transfer from our comfort hotel Northwick Park Road Harrow. The bus does not collect us at our hotel, please advise the nearst hotel to us where we can be collected?
Harrow is in the outer suburbs of London, the cruise buses only serve the hotel districts in Central London.
If you hired a taxi the nearest location geographically would probably be the Marriott Regents Park. Be about 20-30 minutes in the taxi.
By London Underground from Kenton Station get off at Paddington Station, the Hilton Paddington is part of the station.
Hello
What is the closest pick up point to the London Elizabeth Hotel (4 Lancaster Terrace) for the Cruise ship transfer bus that goes via Stonehenge? Thanks
The Lancaster Hotel also on Lancaster Terrace is directly opposite your hotel
Bob, we are wanting to take several day tours and will be staying at the Sheraton Park Tower. What would be the nearest pick-up hotel since I did not see ours on your list? Thank you.
Different day tours have different pick-up points.
The only tours that pick-up very close to your hotel are the small group tours that pick-up next to Harrods at Knoghtsbridge just around the corner from you.
Most of the other tours pick-up from the Hilton Park Lane about 600 yards away by Hyde Park Corner.
Am staying at 81-83 Waterloo Road. Would like to do Windsor, Stonehenge, Bath day tour. What is nearest pick-up point
The Park Plaza County Hall is almost next door to this address.
we are staying at the thistle city barbican. what is the nearest hotel to get the bus at for the day trip to Bath?
There are several day tours that include Bath run by 3 different operators all with different pick-up locations spread throughout London.
The Thistle Barbican is in the business area of London where comparatively few leisure visitors stay so the tour buses do not provide pick-ups within walking distance.
All 3 companies pick-up from Kings Cross / St Pancras, in terms of distance the closest point to your hotel for pick-ups but still a tube journey away.
As Bath is the other side of London from Kings Cross it will be one of the first pick-ups so you might as well take the tube to a much later pick-up point.
This will be different between the various tours.
Below is a page with the most popular day tours that visit Bath year round, if you know which one you want I can assist you in more detail.
http://www.londontoolkit.com/whattodo/bath_tours.htm
We want to do the Windsor, Stonehenge, and Bath tour that costs 71 pounds.
Personally I would get the Underground to Victoria Station.
One of the last pickups is at the Grosvenor Hotel that is part of the station at 7:55 a.m.
Or you can walk about 600 yards down the road to Victoria Coach Station where all the hotel pick-up buses rendezvous and people board their tour coach for the day.
On May 15, 2013 we need a shuttle from our hotel (Comfort Inn London Heathrow) Shepiston Ln Hayes UB31LP to the Harwich cruise port. Is there a pick up from this hotel? If not, where is the nearest pick up point? Also, on May 27, 2013 we need a shuttle from Harwich cruise port to Stansted airport…any suggestions?
Shared van style shuttles common in many countries are not viable in the UK and with a very few exceptions in that format cannot compete with public transport.
For Heathrow to Harwich the cruise bus is normally a full size touring bus so its more like what a cruise ship might put on rather than a small van.
I saw you made another enquiry for a direct private van, given the numbers involved in your party there is not going to be much of a difference between a private vehicle and a shared bus.
From Harwich to Stansted apart from a private vehicle from a local Harwich operator the public transport option is fragmented.
There are hourly trains from Harwich International Station which is adjacent to the cruise terminal. You can get a train to Marks Tey, normaly this will involve a change of train.
At Marks Tey there are a couple of airport bus services to Stansted.
Both issues are quite complex, if you wnat to discuss further, probably best emailing me from the main site Contact Us option
Bob, we will be staying at the Sheraton Park Tower on Knightsbrige. We need transportation to the Harwich port. What would be the nearest pick-up hotel? Thank you.
The nearest pick-up hotel is the Hilton Park Lane at Hyde Park Corner about 600 yards from your hotel.
We are thinking of taking the Stonehenge, Bath tour and staying at the Cavendish at 81 Jermyn St. What would be the nearest pickup point?
Thank you.
The nearest pick-up hotel to the Cavendish is the Ritz Hotel about 200 yards away at the end of Jermyn Street
Hi, me and my friend are staying at the Ibis London City Hotel on 5 commercial street on April 4th. Whats the closest pick up location and time? Thanks.
And we’re thinking of the windsor castle, stonehenge and bath day tour
Closest pick-up would be the Gioman Tower at 7 a.m. which is opposite the Tower of London.
You may prefer to just take a District Line Underground train to Victoria where the bus picks up at 7:55 a.m. at the Grosvenor Hotel part of the train station.
Hi Bob,
We’re thinking of taking the Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath Day Tour from London. We are staying at Holiday Inn Express Limehouse. Could you tell me the nearest hotel pickup?
Thanks
Kathie
The nearest pick-up would be the Goman Tower hotel on the other side of the the road from Tower Hill DLR and the Tower of London.
This is juts about the firts pick-up at 7 a.m.
Its the same fare on the Underground / DLR to Victoria where the bus picks up at the Grosvenor Hotel (part of Victoria Train and Underground Station) an hour later.
We are staying at the Premier in London Blackfriars in June. What is the closest pickup?
Could you clarify for which tour?
We are going to be staying at the Best Western on Warwick Way in June. We want to schedule a transport to the Harwich Port to the Royal Caribbean Ship. Where do we go to meet the bus? I Don’t think it will come to the Best Western.
I’m assuming you are staying at the Best Western Victoria Palalce and not Best Westerm Bolton?
If so. the nearest pick-up hotel is the Dover Hotel, 42 Belgrave Road about 50 yards away depending whether you are staying in the main hotel or its annexe.
Hi Bob! We are staying at the Holiday Inn Heathrow Airport – thinking about the Windsor, Bath and Stonehenge Tour. Any ideas about best pick up location?
Many thanks
Beatrice
There are 4 Holiday Inn’s at Heathrow Airport, but I’m afraid its the same situation for any day tour out of London.
That is you will have to travel into Central London to pick-up the tour and also return at night.
Where is the closest pick up point to the Draycott Hotel for a day trip to Stratford on Avon, Warwick Castle & Oxford the second week in May.
Your hotel at Sloane Square is about 700 yards from Victoria Station where all the hotel pick-up services rendezvous, so you may as well go direct to Victoria Coach Station and give yourself a few extra minutes in bed.
I’m staying at the Crown Plaza St. James and want to know if the bus service will pick us up from the hotel to South Hampton Cruise Terminal. Our trip is planned for May 8th through 12th. The service needed will be for 2 people on Sunday May 12th.
Yes, the Crowne Plaza St james is one of the hotels listed wehn you go through the booking procedure as a pick-up point.
Bob, we are staying at the Premier Inn London Blackfriars at the end of August. What would be the closest pickup for the cruise shuttle going to Southampton.
I’m afraid the Premier Inn Blackfriars is not that close to any of the main hotel ditricts that the bus visits.
The closest is the Strand Palace Hotel on Aldwuch about 1,000 yards away
We would like to go on the tour to windsor castle stonehenge and Bath can you pick up from Think apartments Earl court warwick rd Kensington and can we get of in Bath and get a tour back to London the next day thanks Jill
The nearest pick-up to the Think Apartments is the Best Western Burns hotel by the Earls Court Road entrance of Earls Court Underground Station.
On the Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath tour you can leave the tour at Bath and come back to London using public transport but not the tour bus.
There is an overnight option on the Stonehenge and Bath tour which costs £10 supplement per person if you require this feature.
We are interested in booking your tour and would like to know the best pickup point for us, we are staying at the Mayflower Hotel 26-28 Trebovir Road Earls Court.
Can you clarify which tour?
flight arrives around 7am , sunday sept 1st……what is nearest hotel to catch dover cruise shuttle bus? Also, does bus drop us off at embarkment or is additional transportation required?
On the assumption you are flying into London’s Heathrow Airport which Terminal are you arriving at.
From Heathrow cruise the bus goes direct to Dover.
National Express run scheduled services where you switch bus at Victoria Coach Station. They do not go to the cruise terminal at Dover, just the Ferry Terminal, from where its about an 8 GBP taxi ride to the cruise terminal.
we arrive terminal 3 , heathrow…..what is nearest hotel for pick up? and I assume cruise bus is direct to cruise terminal with no need for a taxi in dover?
The nearest hotel would be the Renaissance Hotel.
From Heathrow the bus goes direct to Dover terminating at the cruise terminal
We are arriving at Heathrow on a Sunday morning around 7 AM on United from SFO. I think we’ll be at Terminal 1. Is there any easy way to get picked up for the trip to the Cruise Ship Terminal? I understand the busses can’t come to the terminals. Is there a hotel or stop close to the terminal?
Terminal 1 which United use is in the centre of the airport, there are no hotels at all in the centre of the airport and there is no pedestrian access at all.
Hoppa Buses run fixed routes to all the main hotels at Heathrow.
The H2 Hoppa Bus runs every 15 minutes to the Park Inn Hotel, the closest hotel. The bus costs 4 GBP per person.
Thank you.
Hi,
We are planning to stay at the Mariott Park Lane Hotel and then will need transportation to the Celebrity Cruise Terminal.
Can you pick up the 2 of us?
If not, how much of a walk is it with a lost of luggage for a cruise?
Thanks.
On the cruise buses the nearest pick-up hotel is the Cumberland Hotel to the Marriott Park Lane. On the return leg they will drop at the front door.
The two hotels are on the opposite side of Oxford Street at Marble Arch only about 50 yards apart from each other, but the location of their respective entrances make the distance about 100 yards
Hi Bob, we are staying at H10 on Waterloo Road, is there a pick up location close by?
The Park Plaza Westminster and Park Plaza County Hall are both pick-up hotels about half a mile from your hotel at the other end of Waterloo Road just before you get to West minster Bridge.
We are staying at the Park Plaza Riverbank London. What hotel do we need to go for our transport to Crown Princess at Southampton on May 25, 2013. Thanks
The Park Plaza Riverbank is a listed pick-up hotel during the booking procedure from trip detail page bellow
http://www.londontoolkit.com/affs/if_cruise_london_southampton_bus.html
Hi Bob,
We are staying at Club Quarters, St. Pauls. What is the nearest hotel for transportation to Southampton cruise port?
I’m afraid the Club Quarter’s St Paul’s is in the City Of London, the business district of London. The nearest pick-up hotel is the Strand Palace Hotel about three quarters of a mile away along Fleet Street and The Strand.
Do you have a pickup at the May Fair hotel, Waldorf Hilton, Radisson Blu Edwardian, or JW Marriott Grosvenor for coach from London to Harwich, as well as return?
The JW Marriott Grosvenor is a pick up hotel (listed as the Grosvenor House Hotel) as is the Marriott Grosvenor Square about 500 yards away
The Radisson Blu Edwardian is a hotel chain with about 8 properties in London. the Radisson Grafton and Radisson Vanderbilt are their properties we pick up from directly.
The Waldorf and the Mayfair Hotel are not pick-up points, both are about 500 yards from pick-up hotels.
On the return, drops can be done at the Marriotts. Waldorf and all the Radisson’s except those in the Leicester Square area and not the Mayfair Hotel.
Bob – we are booked at best western victoria 60-64 warwick way. I am pretty sure there are pick ups close, but we have a semi-mobile 87 year old with us. She can walk (slowly) but not for long distances. We can move the reservation if necessary – and not too expensive. Looking to go to Princess in Southampton. Ta!
The Dover Hotel is a pick-up about 50 yards away along Belgrave Road (The Victoria Palace is on the corner of Warwick Way & Belgrave Road)
Is this OK?
I think the BW Victoria Palace has an annexe on the other side of the road, though I think they tell you if you are staying over there.
50 yards is totally manageable and I will also check into the Dover’s rates. We are traveling in October and I will send you a booking shortly. Thank yo so much for your prompt response and the great website full of info! Blair
The Dover I think is a cheap B&B it might well even not have a lift.
In that area the best mid-range hotel is the Premier Inn Victoria although this is like the BW not a pick-up hotel but is close to the Comfort Inn Victoria
The Comfort Inn Victoria is a pick-up hotel and might be worth looking at.
Bob –
Thanks again for all the helpful info. I returned to our plans again and realize to receive the best info from you it’s best to discuss the entire equation…in short, four of us (one senior) arrive Heathrow 9:30 at night, have only one full day in London to do a bus tour, then want to catch your shuttle to Southampton via Stonehenge the day after. Can you recommend a City shuttle or hotel that is a) easy to get to from Heathrow at that hour, b) is a good location for day or half day City bus tour pick up c) is also a pick up for your Southampton run? Again, many thanks. Blair
If your flight is on time you’ll be through customs at about 10:30 p.m.
From your previous posts it looks like you’re looking at a mid-range hotel offering value.
I’d be tempted to suggest you stay at an airport hotel.
Which hotel would offer the best value and ease of access really depends on which Terminal you are flying into, Heathrow has 4 terminals literally miles apart and if you’re coming at the weekend or during the working week.
(van style shared shuttles are not really done in the UK)
For 4 of you and given the age of one of your party I think it might be an idea to consider a private car to get into London , I presume using the London Underground is out of the question?.
Is your elderly person able to climb stairs of a sightseeing bus to the top deck?
Bob –
It appears we arrive terminal 4 on a weeknight. Due to the arrival hour I am already prepared for a private car transfer from airport to City and see I could also book that through your website. Can we access City tours from a Heathrow hotel? Mother in law can climb and descend stairs ..slowly. Minimal stairs would be the goal for her. She will be happy seeing the sights of London from a bus window with a little walking here and there. As for hotel pricing, yes, mid-range with convenience (if in the City) and value would be the goal. With an elevator. The Comfort is 100 pounds more total than the Best Western. Not sure why I started looking in Victoria area except for cruise transfers so we are not tied to the area. So..thoughts? Thanks again. Blair
Hotel rates are very volatile from day to day, the Comfort Inn is often cheaper than the Best Western at Victoria.
When exactly are you coming?
October 24. I know it’s far ahead but I want to get it planned and finalized.
Hmmm. room rates seem a bit high in town around then, must be half term for all the kids.
Might sound a bit grand, but the Hilton Metropole has advance purchase rates that night at £129 which seems cheaper than most of the budget hotels.
The cruise bus picks up from there too.
The Hilton Metropole is about 800 yards from Paddington Station.
You can get the Heathrow Express / Heathrow Connect airport trains and then a taxi or walk or get a private car all the way, for 4 people there won’t be much difference in price I wouldn’t have thought.

I know our email trail is lengthy…thanks for all your time and suggestions. After consulting all parties, we are leaning towards staying at Heathrow to cut down on walking, transfers, hauling luggage, etc. This will allow for a cruise shuttle pick up at one of the listed Heathrow hotels. Do you have a preferred on the list? That makes the plan to arrange a private car/van day tour into the City from a Heathrow hotel for our one day of sightseeing. Hopefully this makes sense. If so, can you point me to estimated costs for four? Thanks
In terms of not considering finance in this the most convenient hotel is going to be the Hilton Terminal 4. You can walk straight off the plane into the hotel and the cruise bus will pick you up from reception.
In terms of value for money I would point you towards the Premier Inn Terminal 5 (which is nowhere near T5 by the way) this is a solid mid range hotel, just hasn’t got the gyms, swimming pools, rooms service etc taht the others mentioned here have.
You can get a Hoppa Bus from T4 to the hotel.
If you want a full service 4 star but a bit cheaper than the Hilton, then the Renaissance or Sheraton Skyline
Regards a tour if you email me from the main site contact link writing what your interests are, must see’s etc and preferences etc I’ll pass it onto someone who is suited to your needs.
I will follow up with the tour details as you suggest. Thanks so much for all your considerations. It is truly a wonderful, wonderful service you provide.
Bob, we are staying at the Sheraton Park Lane hotel and will need transport to Harwich. What is the closest hotel for pick-up? Thank you very much.
The nearest pick-up hotel to the Sherarton Park Lane is the Hilton Park Lane in Park Lane itself about 350 yards away
We are staying at the rubens at the palace. On the morning of June 5, we need transportation to Princess Cruises at Southampton. Please advise if you pick up at our hotel. Thank you.
The nearest pick-up hotel to the Rubens is the Grosvenor Victoria Hotel about 150 yards from your hotel.
The Grosvenor is the old railway station hotel that forms the front of Victoria Station. The bus picks up from the coach stop outside the main reception of the hotel in Buckingham Palace Road which is the road the Rubens is on.
We are staying at Premier Inn by Victoria Station. What hotel would we need to go to in order to be picked up for the trip out to Southampton cruise port? Thank you.
The Comfort Inn Victoria in Belgrave Road is less than 100 yards from the Premier Inn Victoria and is a pick-up hotel.
What is the closest hotel for a London to Harwich cruise ship bus if we are staying at The Re-London Shoreditch hotel? Our cruise departure date is on Royal Carribean Brilliance of the Seas.
The Re Shoreditch is a little way out of the centre of London.
The nearest hotel district would be the Tower of London and the DoubleTree Hilton Tower Bridge about 2.5 to 3 miles from your hotel would be the closest the cruise bus comes to it.
Bob, we are staying at The Shaftesbury London Premier Paddington – what is the nearest hotel for the Harwich shuttle?
The closest pick-up is the Hilton Paddington that forms the front of Paddington Railway Station on the next block to your hotel.
