There are 4 terminals at London’s Heathrow Airport widely dispersed all over the airport.
In the centre of Heathrow Airport are Terminals 1 and 3 situated between the two main runways. Terminals 4 and 5 are on the perimeter roads several miles away.

The good news is that there is a very good left luggage office in the arrivals hall of each of Heathrow’s 4 passenger terminals.
Each office is well located, very well lit and presented and the service is reliable.
The only down side is that one company holds the concession for the whole airport and its not cheap.

Heathrow Central Bus Station is the main public transport hub for Heathrow Airport, the Underground and Railway Station, Heathrow Central is below the bus station.

At Heathrow Airport complementary hotel buses to the airports hotels were banned years ago as they were causing severe congestion around the passenger terminals.
In their place the airport authority introduced Hoppa Buses which run scheduled routes from the passenger terminals, each servicing 4 or 5 airport hotels.

Is it practical to take your luggage on the crowded London Underground system.
By far the cheapest option to get into Central London from Heathrow Airport is the London Underground. There is also almost certainly an Underground Station real close to your accommodation too making it very convenient.
