Heathrow
Airport to Kensington
By
far the most comfortable transfer from Heathrow to Kings Cross is
to catch the Heathrow
Express from Heathrow to Paddington then get a taxi or the Underground.
This is quite expensive though, at a fraction of the cost you can
do the trip direct using the Heathrow
Underground link. This option can be very crowded, but many people
do it and think of the money they're saving. Journey time is around
45 minutes. The Piccadilly Line serves Earls Court, Gloucester Road
and South Kensington. If you need to switch to the District Line best
do it at Hammersmith when both lines are on adjacent platforms, otherwise
its a long interchange with stairs.

Gatwick
Airport to Kensington
From
Gatwick to Kensington take the direct Gatwick
Express train to Victoria then take the District Line Underground.
If you are on a budget there is a much cheaper, but slower and less
frequent Gatwick
- London Victoria bus.
If you are staying in the Kensington Olympia or High Street area,
there are some direct trains from Gatwick to Kensington Olympia during
the week, change at Clapham Junction weekends. |
Stansted
Airport to Kensington
Stansted
is on the other side of London to Kensington, so transfers by public
transport are tedious.
The fastest and most comfortable option is to take the Stansted
Express train to Liverpool Street, then get the Circle Line underground
to Kensington.
You can save some money taking the longer airport coach option. Take
the Terravision
Stansted Coach from Stansted to Victoria, then get the short underground
journey. There is an alternative National
Express Stansted to London Victoria coach which is slightly slower
and more expensive but operates a more frequent and truly 24x7 service. |
Luton
Airport to Kensington
A
direct train service operates from Luton
to St Pancras First Capital Trains several times an hour. There
is no train station at the airport itself so you get a free bus shuttle
from in front of the terminal to Luton Parkway. Use the Piccadilly
Line Underground between St Pancras and Kensington.
Much slower, but less expensive is the Green
Line Luton Bus. This operates several times an hour from in front
of the terminal at Luton to Victoria, where you can get the underground
to Kensington
