Heathrow
Airport to Paddington
By
far the most comfortable transfer from Heathrow to Paddington is to
catch the Heathrow
Express from Heathrow to Paddington.
At a fraction of the cost of the Heathrow Express, the London
Underground will deliver you from Heathrow to Paddington in about
an hour, changing at Earls Court. If you have lots of luggage you
can avoid the escalators at Earls Court, by getting off at Hammersmith
and getting an extra train to Earls Court which arrives at same platform
as the Paddington train. |
 |
Gatwick
Airport to Paddington
From
Gatwick to Paddington the only realistic route to Paddington is to
travel by train to London Victoria, then get the Underground, local
bus or a taxi direct to Paddington.
The defacto train from Gatwick to Victoria is the Gatwick
Express, a dedicated airport train. If you are on a budget there
are slightly cheaper commuter trains on the same route or a much slower,
less frequent Gatwick
airport bus to Victoria. |
Stansted
Airport to Paddington
Choice
is fundamentally between cheap airport buses and the Stansted
Express train from Liverpool Street. Liverpool Street is still
a long transfer from Paddington though, though direct Underground
trains run to both Paddington and Lancaster gate in about 20 minutes.
National Express run a very frequent 24
hour bus to Stansted that picks up at Baker Street, less than
a mile from Paddington. A couple of stops on the Underground or there
is a no 27 bus.
The cheapest transfer is to get the Underground to Liverpool Street
or Stratford and get the airport buses run by Terravision
and National Express respectively. |
Luton
Airport to Paddington
There
is a train service
from Luton Airport to London, but you need to catch a free transfer
bus at the airport to the nearest station 5 minutes away. Get off
at Farringdon then get the Underground to Paddington.
A cheaper option is the London
Green Line Luton airport bus, running several times an hour from
outside the terminal at Luton to Baker Street, a short underground
or bus (no 27) to Paddington. |
