It is possible, and many do, to walk to the Courtyard Marriott from the South Terminal. Its a wide path that is well signed and any roads crossed are minor and have slopes so you can wheel your luggage down the kerbs. Only real problem is the route is completely exposed to the elements.

A shuttle bus runs every 20 minutes, starting at 4am until midnight and was last advised as costing £3 per person each way. Children under 12 travel free.
