The Mercure Hotel Gatwick is a large six floor hotel situated less than a mile and just north from the terminal complex. (See Gatwick Hotel Map at bottom of page).

Until recently the Mercure Gatwick was the Renaissance Gatwick, which was one of the nicest 4 star hotels on Gatwick Airport. Many of the services and facilities of such opulence have stopped with the Mercure but the basic hotel and rooms were built to 4 star standards with spacious public areas.

The Hotel is part of a cluster of three hotels including the Holiday Inn and Best Western Moat House Hotel. A petrol station sells basic commodities opposite.

A 20 minute walk will take you into the neighbouring town, Horley, a sizable residential town with pubs, restaurants and fast food. Also walkable is a large Tesco supermarket.

Rooms at the Mercure London Gatwick feature an en-suite bathroom, a colour TV with satellite, pay-per-view movies, telephone, radio, hairdryer, trouser press, fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and air conditioning.

Mercure Hotel Gatwick Public Facilities :

The Mercure Gatwick has just opened a new leisure centre, the Constellations Healthclub. Available to all guests for free, Constellations offers a 10m heated swimming pool and jacuzzi, a weight training room and a room for cardiovascular exercises. For a small charge, guests can also take advantage of two squash courts and a selection of beauty treatments which can be booked in advance.

The Pavillion restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner.

L'Olivo is the 'pizza and pasta place' for families, with freshly cooked stone baked pizzas fresh from the pizza oven and steaming pasta dishes.

Room service is available 24 hours.

Gatwick Airport Transfers :

Transfers take up to 10 minutes and run every 15 minutes between 5.35am and 11.35pm (both terminals) by hotel coach. Between midnight and 5.30am the transfer service runs once every half hour. For a service from the airport go to the coach hotel pick up point.

Transfers are charged at £3.00 each way and £1.50 for children (under 5s travel free).

Car Parking :

Overnight car parking at the hotel is last advised as costing £10.

Vicinity :

The Mercure Gatwick is situated at a crossroads, just north of the terminal complex on the edges of Horley. There is little in the immediate vicinity, just two hotels the Best Western Moat House and the Holiday Inn and a Petrol Station that sells confectionery, newspapers and snacks. There is also a large Tesco supermarket just north of the Holiday Inn Gatwick.

A local bus runs about every 20 minutes into Redhill or Crawley or a 20 minute walk will bring you into Horley where there are pubs and restaurants.
