The Ariel Hotel Heathrow Airport is one of four Holiday Inn franchise hotels at Heathrow. The Ariel Hotel Heathrow is at the north-east corner of the airport on the northern perimeter road, (Bath Road), the main hotel strip at Heathrow Airport.

The Ariel Heathrow is a mid-range hotel in terms of price and facilities. In most countries systems of hotel grading this would be equivalent to a 3 star property, perhaps 4 star.

The other Holiday Inn hotels at Heathrow are the Holiday Inn Bath Road, Holiday Inn M4 Junction. and Holiday Inn Express Terminal 5.

The Ariel Heathrow has quite a good position for Terminals 1 and 3, but is the other side of the airport from Terminals 4 and 5. You have access to some restaurants, pubs and services within a short walk as an alternative to the hotel plus the airport bowling alley is next door. There is an excellent choice of local buses operating every couple of minutes from outside the hotel to local towns. The buses can also be used as a free transfer to the passenger terminals as an alternative to the 'official' Hoppa Bus service which is not complementary and comes at a full price.

There are 4 passenger terminals at Heathrow numbered 1,3,4 and 5. The hotels at Heathrow are not allowed to run their own airport shuttle vehicles between the airport and the hotels.

Hoppa Buses - are regulated by the airport authority and run on fixed routes, each serving 2 or 3 Heathrow airport hotels. Hotels have one bus for Terminals 1 & 3, another for Terminals 4 & 5.

Free Local Buses To Passenger Terminals

If you have light luggage you can catch the route 105,111 or 140 public bus from the Central Bus Station between Terminals 1 and 3 to a bus stop immediately outside the Heathrow Ariel hotel free of charge. Buses are much more frequent than the alternative Hotel Hoppa buses and unlike the Hoppa Buses run a 24x7 service.

Bus 423 runs from Harlington Corner where the Ariel Heathrow is situated to Terminal 5 about every 20-30 minutes and is also free. Coming to the hotel you will need to get off the 423 bus at the stop before the Ariel at the Marriott which is about a 250m walk to the Ariel.

Bus 555 runs to Terminal 4 but is one of the less frequent buses at Heathrow operating every 30-45 minutes, hourly on Sundays. The 555 requires a walk of about 250m to the Marriott hotel from the Ariel.
