| Basics
facts when selecting airport parking and hotel packages |
Is
the car parking at hotel or a secure park ?
The
cheapest packages are those where your car is stored at the hotel. Sometimes
the hotel may elect to store your car in a secure compound. Hotel car parks
have barriers to entry and security measures but do not have the security
barring the general public altogether, unlike the off airport specialist
car parks. You also have to pay for the transfer between hotel and terminals,
normally the Heathrow Hoppa Buses.
Packages where you drive to a specialist airport car park from your hotel
are more expensive, but security is normally in place that bars the general
public from access to your vehicle. Transfers here are also normally complementary
via the operators own vehicles, and they normally operate transfers much
longer hours than the hotel transfer buses, often a 24 hour service.
It is clearly stated whether a hotel and parking package has parking
at the hotel or a secure car park, many hotels offer the choice of
both.
What happens if I'm away for longer than
15 days ?
In general the maximum car parking available for a hotel & parking
package is 15 days. If you are away for more than 15 days most hotels
will levy a daily charge for every additional days parking. This is
paid direct to the hotel and charges tend to be quite expensive, in
the range of £7-£12 per day. The exact charge for each
hotel is stated where available in the hotel details during the reservation
process.
If you are staying 20 days or longer it is generally more cost effective
to purchase hotel and parking as separate components. Purple
Parking is one specialist car parking operator that has a ceiling
on its fees. It is no more expensive to park your car for one month
than 17 days. Other operators do the same, for a full comparative

long term car parking quotation tool. |
