Heathrow:

Stansted: A single fast but expensive rail link, the Stansted Express is complemented by 4 competing airport bus routes meeting the needs of the budget traveller. A steadily expanding range of rail and coach routes allows longer transfers missing out London..
Luton: The smallest of the 4 airports has a cheap airport bus and minibus service into London. Luton Airport has no train station but a free airport shuttle takes you to Luton Parkway a few minutes away. From here frequent services to London and the North.
Inter-Airport: There are frequent direct public transport services between all of London's 4 main airports. There is always a coach service and in many airport pairs there is a choice with rail too. In many airport pairs the cheapest option is slowest, indirect by London.
Southampton Cruise Terminals: Southampton is about 80 miles from Central London. There are three cruise terminals at Southampton. A choice of rail, bus or private hire link the cruise terminals with London and its airports. There is even the option of making the transfer a tour!.

Heathrow: There are well over 30 hotels in the immediate vicinity of Heathrow competing for your custom. Most are large multinational chains but there are a few smaller independents, even bed and breakfasts. Rates are usually much cheaper at weekends.
Gatwick: A good range of hotels for all budgets from most of the multinational chains to smaller independents. Some of the hotels are in open country a world away from the hustle of the airport. Rates are usually much cheaper at weekends.
Stansted: The explosive growth of Stansted has meant that provision of hotel rooms has historically lagged behind demand. The shortage is just about over now with a great many new hotels of all types recently opened, driving downs costs everywhere.
Luton: Just two true on airport hotels, the Express by Holiday Inn and Ibis. More luxurious hotels are available in Luton Town a short transfer away and for domestic travellers with their own cars very good value hotel and long term car parking package are available.
