Walmers
Barn House is a 17th century Converted Barn located within
the Stansted Airport Perimeter on the other (north) side of the main
runway to the passenger terminals, a distance of about 7kms by road.
The accommodation is serviced from the thatched pub opposite, (see
picture below) where food is available. The barn is on the edge of
a small village, with minimal traffic and horses as likely to be on
the roads, a million miles away from the hustle and bustle the other
side of the runway.

Directions :
Exit
the M11 at Junction 8 and follow signs to Stansted Airport. At the
firsrt roundabout, turn left and follow signs to the Long Stay Car
Park. Continue over the 2nd and 3rd roundabouts and you will see
the Long Stay Car Park on your left. Continue straight over and
follow this road for 2 miles until you reach Burton End. On the
right hand side you will see a Thatched Pub called The Ash, the
hotel is opposite. Go into the Ash to check in.
Airport Transfers/Parking :
Parking
is at the hotel, no commercial vehicles allowed.
One way transfers are available to the airport from the hotel only
from 04:00 - 18:00 by Taxi charged at £2 per person and should
be booked on arrival.
You are asked to leave your car keys at the hotel as your car may
have to be moved to an off site car park, at the hotels discretion.
Parking prior to stay is not permitted.

which has a restaurant open from 1000hrs-2130hrs.

The Walmers
Barn House is on the edge of the village of Bartons End, a small typically
English unspoilt village. Access to the village is by country lanes.
Opposite Walmers Barn House is the Ash Public House, which manages
the accommodation.
The thatched pub has a restaurant.
A pleasant walk is along the lane in front of the barn which in effect
is the northern perimeter road of Stansted Airport. However traffic
is minimal.
About a 15 minute walk along the lane eastward is the main vantage
point used by local spectators to view the airports aircraft movements.
