Anderson Tours run this popular full day budget tour. An accompanying Tour Manager manages the tour and makes sure things run smoothly.

Unlike many tours that visit three main destinations this day tour only attempts two. As a result you will have more time to explore both Oxford and Stratford than most other tours.


Pickups are between 07.30 and 09.00hrs at London Bridge, Kings Cross, Baker Street, Victoria, South Kensington and Earls Court.

The tour is due back in London around 18:30.

On arrival in Oxford you will have a guided walking tour. After this you will have some free time to explore this University City.


The “City of Dreaming Spires” is famous the world over for its University and place in history. For over 800 years it has been a home to royalty and scholars and since the 9th century an established town, although people are known to have lived in the area for thousands of years. Nowadays the city is a bustling cosmopolitan town. Still with its ancient University, but also home to a growing hi-tech community.

Nearly everything the visitor wants to see is within 5 minutes walk of each other. Most are associated with the university. Perhaps the most popular single attraction is Christ Church Oxford. Its popularity enhanced recently by it being part of the Harry Potter series of films.

We depart Oxford shortly after lunch for the short journey of under an hour to Stratford Upon Avon. What the university is to Oxford, Shakespeare dominates any visit to Stratford Upon Avon.

On arrival in Stratford we will commence an Anderson Tours guided sightseeing tour of this city. Entrance is included into Anne Hathaway's Cottage.


There are several houses in or near Stratford-upon-Avon connected with William Shakespeare and his family. There is also Holy Trinity Church where Shakespeare is buried and the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) that perform the plays.


The Shakespearean properties offer a unique experience of the Stratford world in which the famous dramatist and poet was born, lived and died.

Open all year round, these sixteenth-century houses feature rare period furnishings and domestic items. Aspects of Tudor life, are on display, all set in attractive gardens and grounds.
