The
only true National Bus Network in the UK is operated by National
Express. National Express Coaches operate a comprehensive
network covering over 120 towns and villages in the UK. Frequency
is high on the main routes.
Price is the main attraction. Most of the National Express Coach routes
run along Britain's motorway network, most are fairly direct.
Promotional fares tend to be aimed at the old and the young, as ever
the fare structure can be complex.

The
main coach station at Heathrow is in the central area between Terminals
1,2,3. There are underground moving walkways taking about 5-10 minutes
to Terminals 1 and 3 from here. Terminal 2 is about 100m from the
coach station.
Many coaches do not terminate at Heathrow, but go onto Gatwick. These
coaches also stop at Terminal 5 on the other side of the airport.
Terminal 5 is the 'middle stop' between Gatwick and Heathrow Central
(Terminals 1,2,3).
Underneath the bus station is Heathrow Central Station where the Heathrow
Express and Heathrow Connect trains run every 15 minutes to Terminals
4 and 5. This service is free. |
