The Journey Between Southampton & London
Southampton cruise terminals are about 80 miles (128 kms) from Central London, and 2 hours in a vehicle.
Heathrow Airport is the nearest major airport to Southampton, about 65 miles (105 kms) and 90 minutes by private vehicle
Gatwick Airport is not as convenient as Heathrow, situated south of London requiring a journey along London's very congested orbital motorway/freeway. The turnoff is close to Heathrow Airport from where its another 40 minutes to Gatwick.
Its quite important you budget adequate contingency time as the roads can be congested. If the motorway is congested or there is an accident, alternative routes are much, much slower. Nearly all cruise ships have assisted disembarkation between about 7 a.m. and 08:30 a.m. During weekdays, transfers into London and its airports have a high probability of road congestion delays at the tail end of the morning commuter traffic once you approach the Heathrow area and the turn-off for Gatwick.
Going towards Southampton its not so bad, but if you are travelling on a summer Saturday, the road down to Southampton can be at gridlock in the morning as half of London makes for the beaches.
Airport Pickups
All of our airport pickups provide a personalised meet and greet service as you exit the customs area of the passenger terminal. Our friendly drivers will assist you with your luggage and escort you to the waiting vehicle. At London's airports it normally takes 45 to 75 minutes after landing to get through customs and baggage reclaim. Your flight is monitored so if it is delayed the drivers arrival time will be adjusted accordingly. There are no extra charges if your flight is delayed.
Southampton Cruise Terminal Pickups
An airport style meet and greet service is provided at Southampton's cruise terminals. Your driver will have your party name on a board as you exit the customs area of the cruise terminal.

Nearly all cruises at Southampton have assisted disembarkation from about 7 a.m. and most are fully disembarked by 09:00 a.m. Priority is normally given to those with early flights. Many ships also offer unassisted disembarkation prior to 7 a.m.
Unless you are in a rush, we would suggest a time of 8:30 a.m., telling the customer services desk on boarding that's when your transport will be expecting you off the ship.

Air-conditioned & Roomy Small Buses |
Small Buses - 8 To 16 Seats With Room For Lots Of Luggage
Air conditioned roomy small buses with 8, 12 or 16 seats and lots of luggage room for small groups. These buses are proper purpose built buses, not cramped converted vans.
These small buses are small enough to get in the car parks at airports, big enough to qualify to use the special bus lanes in Central London.
The buses can also carry outsize items, commonly wheelchairs, electric scooters, bicycles and surfboards.
Drivers meet and greet at airports, hotels and ports just like the cars.
Full Size Touring Coaches For Large Groups
If you have a large group then that is not a problem either
The largest coaches are 50 seat coaches but we also have access to vehicles half that size.
With large groups on cruises the capacity issue is not normally passenger numbers but luggage. The average cruise party will have filled a 50 seat coaches luggage hold with the luggage from about 32 cruise passengers, but no party is average. The point being that estimating the amount of luggage you will be bringing is just as important as knowing how many people in your group.
With large groups just as small groups multi-drop and pick-ups from hotels is routine and if you require sightseeing we can arrange a guide whether it be an orientation tour of London or a niche interest of the group.
Putting Your Own Groups Together
We do not put groups together for the purpose of vehicle sharing.
A lot of people use the Roll Call feature on the Cruise Critic web site to put their own group together, again we do many of these each year.
The key point with these charters is that the price is a flat rate for the vehicle, not per person. If somebody pulls out at the last moment the group are still liable for the full cost of the charter.
