Walk
Summary
This is
a relatively long walk, especially if you want to spend significant
time at Hampton Court.
There are plenty of opportunities, to
customise the walk into shorter lengths. We've outlined a few below.
Most of the flexibility is brought about by the boat services and
R68 bus service which broadly shadow our route all the way. |

|
Short
Walk 1
- Historic Building Highlights
Richmond Palace, Ham House, Hampton Court
Follow
the walk through Richmond as far as Richmond Bridge. Instead of
climbing the steps up to Richmond Bridge, continue on the River
Thames Towpath. Keep going until you come to Ham House.
Resume walk here after visiting Ham House. Continue to Teddington,
and catch R68 bus to Hampton Court.

|
Short Walk 2
- Ham House & Hampton Court
From
Richmond Underground Station catch a bus to Petersham. Commence
walk mid-way in Stage 3.
Short
Walk 3
- Hampton Court & Kingston
After
visiting Hampton Court follow the river, on the palace side of the
river along the towpath to Kingston. About a 40 minute walk.
Kingston is a major shopping town in South London. You can catch
a train back to London from here, or board a boat upstream to Richmond
or beyond.
