Lacock is in not one of the most populated areas in Southern England. As such, getting there by public transport is not ideal but doable.

The public transport lifeline to Lacock is the 234 bus that runs to Lacock from Chippenham on its way to Frome, the journey time is about 15 minutes. The bus stop in the village is by the George Inn, (see image right).
Frequencies are broadly hourly, Monday to Saturday only.

Chippenham Railway Station has fast links to London Paddington. Trains are one or two an hour taking about 75 minutes.
In the opposite direction the trains go onto Bath about 15 minutes away.

There are also local buses operating between Chippenham and Bath.

National Express run cheaper coaches to and from London from Chippenham but these take around 3 hours. Like the trains these coaches go to and originate from Bath, 30 minutes away.
