The public transport direct to Windsor starts from Terminal 5 at Heathrow. (See Heathrow - Windsor public buses).

You can use the Heathrow Express free between Terminals 1 and 3 to Terminal 5 and there are free buses between Terminal 4 and Terminal 5 too. There are free local buses that go along the Bath Road to Terminal passing the Sheraton Park, Thistle, Holiday Inn (Bath Road), Park Inn, Renaissance, Heathrow Lodge and Radisson hotels.

The Green Line bus to Windsor stops outside the Marriott Windsor which is a Heathrow hotel, midway between Windsor and Heathrow.

Time To Kill At The Airport? - Why Not Visit Windsor Before/After Heathrow Airport

If you have a late flight out of Heathrow and have to check out of your hotel by late morning then you have time to kill. Similarly, if you are in transit between flights with a long gap in between, killing time at the airport is something most people dread the thought off.
