IFS Cloud Cable Car – A little history
The IFS Cable Car service was launched on June 28, just in time for the 2012 Olympics. Formally known as the Emirates Air Line, it is the United Kingdom’s first and only urban cable car system.
The experience is overseen by Transport for London (TFL) and is currently sponsored by IFS, a global leading software company.
Constructed within 2 years by Doppelmayr, this system is a monocable detachable gondola (MDG) that can carry as many as 2,500 passengers every hour.

Ride the IFS Cloud Cable Car
Connecting the Royal Docks in the east to Greenwich Peninsula in the west, stretching 0.62 miles (1.1 km). The cable car flight rises to about 90 m (300 ft), providing the highest vantage point above the river Thames.
This thrilling adventure offers stunning views of famous sites like the O2 Arena, Canary Wharf, and the nearby surroundings.
Frequency and Capacity
Cars arrive every 30 seconds and have a capacity of up to 10 people.
Journey Times
At a speed of 14mph, the journey between terminals takes about 10 minutes, though this can change depending on the crowds and weather conditions on the day.
Be aware extreme weather conditions may cause the experience to temporarily close.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the terminals, and discounts are available for Oyster card users and Travelcard holders.

Accessibility
IFS Cloud Cable Car is accessible to wheelchair users and cyclists. The cable cars have step free access making it easy to get on and off.
Note: any form of electric bicycle is not permitted on the IFS Cloud Cable Car.

Queens House

Royal Observatory
Home of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). The Royal Observatory sits in the middle of Greenwich Park. Experience Planetarium Celebration Shows with live presentations by Royal Observatory astronomers. Additionally, talks, events and festivals are held throughout the year.
Furthermore, have fun straddling the Prime Meridian, this is the line that historically marks the centre of world time. However, it is also well known for its glorious views over London’s skyline.

Greenwich Park
Additionally, Greenwich Park the oldest Royal Park in London. As well as being a fantastic park it is famous for The Royal Observatory, home of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). However, it is also well known for its glorious views over London’s skyline.
Along with the outstanding views and green spaces Greenwich Park offers, it also boasts a boating pond, children’s play area (suitable for ages up 12), and the Queens House dating back to 1616. A former royal residence which now serves as an art gallery, and cafés great for coffee, hot chocolate, and cakes.

Linking the North and South banks of the Royal Victoria Dock the footbridge provides stunning views of both Victoria and Albert Docks.

Keep an eye out for City Hall and the historic warehouses, including the impressive Spillars Millennium Mill. You might spot some planes flying low as they take-off and land at London City Airport.
