What’s on at the Hampton Court Garden Festival
Get inspired whilst explore amazing garden designs and glorious floral displays at the annual flower show, held in early July by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).

You can look forward to a range of engaging talks, exciting demonstrations, and hands-on workshops. Featuring potting and informative displays and appearances by TV personalities and garden designers who will share their expertise and provide practical demonstrations.
Food and Drink
Savor delicious food and beverages with an assortment of choices. Enjoy a delightful picnic by the water or relax at one of the charming cafés offering riverside scenery. Experience the vibrant atmosphere of lively bars and savor the delectable street food from different cultures, including plenty of plant-based options.

The festival has two public entrance/exit gates
Hampton Court Green Park – Car Park
Walking from Green Park Car Park to the festival takes about 20 minutes. There are shuttle and mobility buses available on site to transport visitors to Long Water Gate.
Ditton Gate – Located in the beautiful East Front Garden, Palace Grounds.
Visitors who enter through this gate will have the pleasure of experiencing the stunning Palace Grounds and gardens included with their Festival entrance ticket.
Long Water Gate – Located in Black Car Park. Bike racks are available at this location and also Golden Gate, on Barge Walk.
Parking can be purchased when booking tickets.
All day parking: £16. Book in advance or pay on the day.
Transport Options
Car
Hampton Court Palace is easily accessible by car. Located on the A309 the palace is well signposted with brown tourist attraction road signs.
Parking
Black Car Park
Located off the A308 Hampton Court Road (coming from Kingston). Including Accessible Parking.
Green Car Park
Located off the A308 Hampton Court Road (coming from M3).
Be aware of the London congestion charges in the area. See the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) map.
There is a way to enter and exit the car parks without entering the charge zones.
Train
Hampton Court train station, (situated in zone 6), is a twenty five-minute stroll from Ditton Gate.
An accessibility shuttle provides transport to Long Water Gate.
National Rail operates frequent trains from London Waterloo, which depart every 30 minutes.
Trains to Waterloo depart from Hampton Court Station at regular times throughout the day.
Oyster Cards are accepted for transport between London and Hampton Court Station.
London Underground
Unfortunately, Hampton Court does not have an underground station close by.
The closest Underground stations can be found in Wimbledon and Richmond, both of which offer connecting bus services.
Bus
Regular bus services run from Kingston and Richmond.

A ferry service is available from Kingston and Richmond to Hampton Court Turks Pier (Barge Walk).

Hampton Court Palace

Overview
Hampton Court Palace is located in Richmond upon Thames, London. This magnificent structure has a rich history dating back to the late 15th century when Cardinal Thomas Wolsey originally built it as a residence.
However, King Henry VIII expanded it into what you see today, and it became one of England’s finest Tudor palaces.
Under Henry’s reign, the palace was transformed into a grand and luxurious abode, complete with stunning gardens and intricate architecture that reflected his status and power.
Today, visitors can explore the impressive Great Hall, the beautiful Chapel Royal, and the expansive gardens, all of which showcase the palace’s remarkable evolution and enduring legacy.
Hampton Court Palace Gardens
The Great Fountain Garden, the Privy Garden, and the Tudor Knot Garden feature stunningly maintained landscapes. The largest grapevine in the world, known as the Hampton Court Vine, also thrives there.

Dating back to the 17th century. The Hampton Court Maze is one of the oldest and most famous hedge mazes in the world.
