Large B&B rooms suitable for families & groups in budget accommodation
If you’re in search of accommodations for up to six people, then relatively cheap London bed and breakfast family rooms are the most abundant option available.
Sometimes you will find that the beds are regular full-size beds for all occupants, and sometimes it will show that the other beds other than the principle double are sofa beds. This will be clearly shown under the room type room description. Cots are also often available on request.
A ‘Family Room’ will often accommodate up to six people with one double bed and two sofa beds. A quadruple room is generally a bit cheaper with just one bed/sofa bed.
If you have smaller children then the chain hotels with sofa beds, (especially Premier Inn and Travelodge) may be your best bet for the cheapest family hotel accommodation in London. Both Travelodge and Premier Inn have family rooms with a sofa bed at the same price as a double/twin room.

Bed and breakfast hotels in London can fulfil the role in providing rooms that can accommodate more than four people so are worthwhile exploring for groups of up to six. You can expect to pay from £150 – £400+ per night for a family room in a London B&B.
Clearly this is a big range and where possible we have tried to select hotels where rates are around or under £200 for a family bed and breakfast in central London with breakfast included.
Many bed & breakfast hotels in London bundle in breakfast with the room rate, with some offering it as an additional extra. Breakfasts for a family can soon add up in a “normal” hotel. Although some budget chains operate a kids eat free policy for breakfast, this doesn’t apply to adults.
Seasonality
The nature of the market is such that it is driven by children’s holiday periods. Bed & breakfast family rooms are often sold out well in advance at weekends but lie empty during the working week. If you want one of these cheap family rooms, it is more important to book well in advance.
In the UK children have their summer holidays for six weeks centred around August. There are also breaks of one to two weeks around Easter and Christmas.

King’s Cross St Pancras B&Bs – Opposite Kings Cross and St Pancras Station is Argyle Square, around which are some of the best value Bed and Breakfast hotels in London.
Earls Court Kensington B&Bs – A budget-friendly hotel area designed for cost-conscious travellers, especially ideal for those arriving at Heathrow Airport.
Bayswater B&Bs – Another budget hotel district on the north side of Hyde Park. Cheaper during the week, room rates go up at weekends.
Victoria B&Bs – The most central B&B district for which you pay a small premium. Direct affordable airport buses to all 4 major London airports.
Paddington B&Bs – Neighbouring district to Bayswater in the Sussex Gardens area.
