For many British, Premier Inn is the trusted chain of choice, a dependable and safe option that rarely lets you down. For all of these locations you pay a sizable price premium for their location in prime areas dominated by luxury 4- and 5-star hotels. Room rates fluctuate with demand. If you book a little in advance then normally you will be offered a non-flexible “Saver Rate” often with a significant discount, payable at the time of reservation. The small print being no refunds or cancellations. Family rooms at Premier Inn are normally sold at the same price as standard rooms for couples, though in family rooms the extra bed is often a sofa bed suitable just for kids.

Premier Inn Hub and Zip hotels

A new Premier Inn Hub hotel is opening this year in London City Bank. Premier Inn Hub hotels offer cheaper rooms in central locations due to their reduced size. ZIP by Premier Inn hotels will be situated on the outskirts of large towns and cities, and will feature compact pod-like rooms, measuring just 8.5m squared (less than half the size of a standard Premier Inn room). The first will open in Cardiff in early 2019, with 138 rooms and a second site with 140 rooms will follow in Southampton, with further acquisitions expected in other locations.
