The hotel is about 1 mile south of the main airport on the main road into Crawley. There is little in the immediate area, just south of the hotel is a business area of Crawley. Public buses run into Crawley Town where there is a wide range of shops, restaurants and entertainments.

About 200m north of the Ibis is another hotel the Premier Inn Gatwick South. This has extensive grounds and a pleasant olde worlde pub with pond which on a nice day would be a pleasant place to chill out. There is also a Toby's Carvery within 10 minutes' walk.
