Backpacker hostels in London are of course spread across all of London. On this page we look at those backpacker hostels in Central London close to the places people want to visit and experience around Kensington and Victoria.

The original traditional area for backpacker hostels was Earl's Court Kensington. This is still one of the major budget accommodation districts in London.

Shops and services are very much geared towards the budget traveller, there is good public transport links and if you are flying into Heathrow, cheap, fast and frequent underground trains run every 5 minutes.

Within sight of the front entrance of Earl's Court Underground on Earl's Court Road you will see most of the global fast food chains, including McDonald's, KFC, Starbucks and independent bakeries and such like. For the budget traveller all the basics are here with launderettes, pubs and small supermarkets available. Some of the pubs do very good value breakfasts as well as traditional pub grub in the evening.

Victoria is also one of the best places for transport links. There are direct airport links to all four of London's major airports and train services to Dover ferry port. London's only coach station is here, the cheapest way of travelling around England and to Europe.

Victoria is also a major transport hub for getting around Central London with 3 Underground lines and countless bus routes that will get you to most places in Central London you want to visit within 15 or 20 minutes.

The backpacker hostels located in this part of Central London have no curfews and most offer a wide choice of different size dormitories and the option of private rooms too.

Many will have female only dormitories. Most include breakfast in the overnight rate.

The Kensington and Victoria area is full of cheap Bed and Breakfast hotels which may offer an alternative to the backpacker hostels. The private rooms in these often being cheaper than private rooms in hostels.
