Family rooms in London hotels of a good quality are subject to limited availability. Most luxury hotels just have the standard double/twin options but few have proper family rooms. Requests for adjoining rooms are often just that, requests - which may or may not be made available.
On this page we focus on some 4 -star hotels that do offer family rooms, all are large global chain hotels. If you do not need the room service, fitness rooms and concierge services that you are paying for and enables a hotel to call itself a 4-star hotel you may want to consider one of the mid market 3-star type hotels. Most 4 star hotel in London are aimed at the business market. Room rates are highly volatile at all times, but generally are lower at weekends when the businessmen and conferences are scarce on the ground. This is especially true in business areas like the City of London, but not so great in leisure areas like in the West End theatre district.
The Marriott chain is about the only main chain hotel in London that has North American style rooms with two king size beds in each room in the majority of their hotels.
The Novotel chain is aimed at businessmen during the week but at the weekend there are often very good 'family deals' with free breakfasts for the kids and other services designed to replace the businessmen with family groups.
