The only direct public transport between London's Luton and Stansted airports are the National Express coaches which shuttle between the two airports.
Note - there is no direct train service.
This coach service is the fastest public transport traveling between Stansted and Luton airports. Scheduled time is around 80-90 minutes and there are 1 or 2 buses an hour each way for most of the day.
Stansted and Luton airports are aboth 35-40 miles north of London so the alternative route indirect into Central London and then out again is much slower.
If you do need to go via Central London for some reason the fastest alternative is to take the Stansted Express train from Stansted to Tottenham Hale, then take the London Underground to St Pancras from where you can take the Luton Airport train.
Coach Departure Pickup Points
At Luton Airport there is a dedicated coach station in front of the terminal, as you come out the front door.
At Stansted also there is a large modern dedicated coach station in front of the passenger terminal which is well signed.

Cheapest promotional fares are available online in advance. Normally a return fare is much, much cheaper than two single fares. Unlike the railways tickets bought online are true etickets, visitors from overseas can pay by credit card and have their tickets delivered by email in a couple of minutes.
Tickets ordered online are e-tickets, emailed to your inbox immediately after ordering.
You have to stipulate a specific transfer time reserving you a seat. If your flight is late or early, you can travel on other schedules but the seat is not reserved.

National Express Luggage Allowance
Luggage allowance is often a lot less than flight baggage allowances if you are traveling to/from North America. Luggage entitlement is limited to two cases per person in the hold, neither of which should weigh more than 20kg (44lbs). In the cabin you can take a small item of luggage like a handbag or laptop.
Drivers do not weigh the luggage and typically are quite flexible, but don't count on it and don't abuse the allowance.
National Express have introduced an excess luggage policy with charges and if you have outsize items or unusual items you really need to check out the detail of the luggage policy.
