Victoria is the main gateway to central London for those flying into Gatwick Airport with direct trains. Within close proximity to Victoria railway station are two hotels whose entrance is either inside the station or directly opposite an exit.
The Victoria Grosvenor Hotel is steeped in history being the original railway hotel back when Victoria was first built. One entrance to this hotel is just a few yards from the Gatwick Express platform making airport transfers incredibly simple. The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Victoria is on the eastern side of Victoria station with reception entrance opposite the station.
Walking along Victoria street towards Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament, the area starts to change in character. Hotels become much sparser and are almost exclusively high end 4- or 5-star luxury hotels.

With such a convenient location to all the central government offices, room rates along here can be eye watering during the working week. Expect the rates start from approximately £150 per night. It is worth checking for the weekends though when prices can drop and become much more attractive. In the months of July and August (school holidays in the UK) you can expect the prices to fall.
