The Holiday Inn Express Stansted was opened in January 2005 and is the closest hotel to the passenger terminal at Stansted, bar the luxury Radisson Blu Hotel Stansted which is immediately adjacent to the passenger terminal at Stansted.
Unlike most other hotels on the airport, the Holiday Inn Express Stansted includes breakfast in the room rate. Although its one of the closest hotels to the Stansted terminals you still need a vehicle to make the transfer. The Holiday Inn Express Stansted also runs its own shuttle bus to the terminals.
Although the Holiday Inn Express Stansted is quite isolated, (like most hotels at Stansted) there is a a McDonalds opposite the hotel and a BP petrol station with a 'Wild Bean Cafe'.

Transfers Between Holiday Inn Express Stansted and Airport Terminals:
Transfers are provided by the hotel transfer bus, which runs every 30 minutes from 4am to 1am. For a transfer from the airport, go to bay 30 outside the terminal. Journey is £2 per person each way, (children under 16 free).

There is nothing in the immediate vicinity apart from the airports mid-term car park, a McDonalds and a petrol station opposite.
The petrol station has a 'Wild Bean Cafe' where baguettes, pastries etc are available and there is a selection of convenience goods available too.
