Windsor Bus From Heathrow Airport
3 Public Buses Connecting Heathrow T5 With Windsor Castle
Heathrow - Windsor Castle no 71 Bus
The buses going direct to Windsor from Heathrow start at Terminal 5 on the western side of Heathrow, the closest terminal to Windsor.
The buses also pass a few Heathrow Hotels on the way so you can see Windsor as part of a stopover at Heathrow. Most Heathrow hotels have a Hoppa Bus to Terminal 5 running frequently through the day and if your hotel is on the Bath Road there are free public buses.
The Piccadilly Line of the London Underground terminates at Terminal 5 as does the Heathrow Express train from London's Paddington Station.
You can use the Heathrow Express free between Terminals 1 and 3 to Terminal 5 and there are free buses between Terminal 4 and Terminal 5 too.
There are luggage storage facilities in each of the terminals at Heathrow, but they are not cheap.
Public Buses Heathrow to Windsor
The 71 and 77 buses stop right outside Windsor Castle, but they do not terminate there. The 71 bus although taking slightly longer takes a more scenic route and approaches Windsor from the south stopping in Old Windsor.
Public Transport Central London to Windsor
You can use the 71 bus to visit Runnymede, where the signing of the Magna Carta took place and the Queen's Farm shop. For the Magna Carta get off at the Bells Of Ouzely pub at the south end of Old Windsor.
The 60/61 bus goes to Eton on the other side of the river to Windsor.
It stops at both Eton College and the bridge over the River Thames into Windsor from Eton. You will almost certainly be the only 'non local' if you use this bus.

Time To Kill At The Airport? - Why Not Visit Windsor Before/After Heathrow Airport
If you have a late flight out of Heathrow and have to check out of your hotel by late morning then you have time to kill. Similarly, if you are in transit between flights with a long gap in between, killing time at the airport is something most people dread the thought off.
A much more attractive proposition is to spend your time in the attractive town of Windsor, just a few miles from Heathrow Airport. Windsor Castle pictured right is what it is famous for but there is much much more to Windsor and Eton than the castle.
We have flexible packages for all group sizes.
A luggage storage service is available whilst you are in Windsor and there is a flat fee rate, no matter how much or little time you spend in Windsor - no waiting time charges apply.
The stopover solution is a private solution customised to every customer. This is not a public tour with set operating times.
