Few hotels in this district are modern, most are stately piles. Actually part of Victoria Station is the The Grosvenor, this was the original railway hotel when Victoria Station was built. Its sister hotel the Thistle Westminster is just around the corner and is a total contrast, a modern block of a hotel.

Also around Victoria Station is the Rubens At The Palace, overlooking Buckingham Palace. If you want a typically traditional English stay, this may be for you. The Hesperia and Park Plaza Victoria hotels are tucked down the side of Victoria Station and are far more contemporary.
Along Victoria Street towards Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament there is a cluster of hotels around St James Underground, close to St James Park. The Crowne Plaza St James being one of the largest luxury hotels here.
