There is a choice of direct public transport options from Heathrow to South Wales and West of England.
There are no flights from Heathrow anymore, flights do operate from Plymouth to London Gatwick but this is not really a realistic option for Heathrow.

National Express coaches run direct services to most major towns and cities in the West & South - West. The National Express coach network covers nearly every town and city in England and Wales, so chances are there is a connecting bus if there is no direct service.
The rail network again serves most major towns and cities in the region. There is no direct train service from Heathrow, you either have to go into London or better and cheaper catch the RailAir coach to Reading, the first stop for trains to the west of England originating from London's Paddington station.

Rail Heathrow - West Country & Wales
There is no major mainline station at Heathrow. The main railway line to the West Country starts at London's Paddington station, and passes a few miles to the north of Heathrow.

The journey times are thus compromised by the need to take a shuttle bus (see below) to the nearest station at Reading - a 25 mile motorway journey.
Railways are privatised in the United Kingdom. You may use several companies travelling from Heathrow, but all are integrated for ticketing purposes.
Prices are very complex, normally the best fares are advance purchase, if you pay on the day it can be very expensive.

Use the 'trainline' link right - for timetables and available fares.
RailAir Coach - Heathrow to / from Reading
The Rail Air coach from Heathrow to Reading leave from the Central Bus Station (between Terminals 1,2 and 3) about every 30 minutes. Passengers using Terminal 4 need to catch the Heathrow Connecttrain between Terminal 4 and Central. This runs every 15 minutes and is free.
The bus stops in front of Terminal 5.

National Express Ticketing & Timetables
On National Express web site do not select Heathrow Terminals 1,2,3,4 or 5 in the journey planner.
Instead select Heathrow Central Bus Station
(CBS)
At Heathrow departures from National Express are from the Central Bus Station. Allow 10 minutes from here to transfer to Terminals 1,2 or 3 by foot. The route is covered and luggage trolley friendly along underground corridors with moving walkways and ramps and lifts at either end.
From Terminal 4 you need to catch the Heathrow Connect train (free) which runs from Terminal 4 to the central train station underneath the bus station.
From Terminal 5 you need to catch the Heathrow Express train, also free and also every 15 minutes again from the Central Station.
Package Heathrow Transfer Plus Airport Hotel
If you have to stay overnight at Heathrow in addition to making the transfer, you will find it more economical to bundle hotel and transfers in one package.

Nearly all airport hotels at Heathrow are covered by the scheme, transfers are provided by the National Express coaches that cover nearly all towns and cities in England and Wales.
Important: To take advantage of this package you need to purchase return transfers. You cannot purchase a package just one way. The hotel stay can be at the end of the outward leg or before the return.
