Your fabulous Harry Potter day out will be split between a visit to Oxford - one of the many film locations of the Harry Potter films and a four hour visit to Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter.
Your first stop is Oxford, location of many scenes from the Harry Potter films.
A one hour professionally guided walking tour is included, as well as free time to explore this enchanting city at your leisure. This guided walking tour will take you into the heart of this land of hallowed academia, to the Radcliffe Camera, part of Bodleian Library, to Sheldonian Theatre and selected colleges. The tour will go past university colleges such as Christ Church, Merton, Oriel, Corpus Christi, Magdalen, University, Queens, All Souls, Hertford, Trinity, Balliol and St John's.
Many of these have associations with scenes from the Harry Potter films, for a taster, see our Oxford Harry Potter filming locations.
You will finish your tour with some free time, to explore Oxford at your own leisure.
Following on from your visit to Oxford you will enjoy a four hour visit to Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter, at the same studio where many of the eight Harry Potter films were shot.
Dozens of spectacular sets await you; much loved places from the films such as the Forbidden Forest, Hogwarts Great Hall, Diagon Alley and the Hogwarts Express. In addition there are heaps of interactive opportunities, animatronics and thousands of intricate wizarding props.
The latest attraction to arrive at the Studio in 2019 was Gringotts Bank, a glittering spectacle of goblins and jewels - and a special effects mastery to finish.
After your visit to the Warner Bros Studio Tour, your Harry Potter day trip ends and your coach will return you to London.
Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter has put in place various safety measures which you need to be aware of when visiting. Please see below for the various changes to the tour aimed at keeping all staff and visitors as safe as possible, whilst still enjoying all the magic of the studios.
You can cancel your bookings and receive a full refund if you do so up to 14 days before your time of travel.
Further to the UK government announcement, you must wear a face covering (unless exempt) for entry into the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London. You will be refused entry without one.
In 2019 the studio launched their latest expansion - Gringotts Bank. A glittering exhibition featuring the magnificent banking hall, with crystal chandeliers and the goblin tellers’ desks as we remember them from the films, this one's not to be missed.
The detail extends to piles of Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts. You can even marvel at the painstakingly hand-created prosthetic masks of the goblin bankers.
In addition to the banking hall, you’ll also see the Lestrange vault, including the Sword of Gryffindor and Helga Hufflepuff’s Cup, one of Voldemort’s Horcruxes.
The exhibition is included with the normal entry ticket for The Making of Harry Potter.
You can find out about our experience of the exhibition by reading our blog on the Gringotts Bank expansion.
Brand-new for 2022, Mandrakes and Magical Creatures will shine a spotlight on how your favourite creature effects were brought to life on screen.
Start your journey in the Great Hall watching the Frog Choir scene as seen in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, featuring the costume of conductor of the choir, Professor Flitwick, as worn by Warwick Davis.
During your tour you'll see plenty of magical creatures including as Cornish Pixies, Dumbledore’s beloved Fawkes and the animatronic Monster Book of Monsters can be spotted during your visit. In addition, you will learn how Thestrals and Mandrakes were brought to life using a mixture of scale models and CGI in the Creatures Workshop.
Professor Sprout’s greenhouse will now be open for the very first time! Step into the greenhouse, home to many exotic and magical plants, and stop to pull out a potted Mandrake as part of an interactive display.
Based on the scene in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, you will recognise the Venomous Tentacula hanging from the ceiling as you walk through the greenhouse.
The ever-popular Dark Arts fest will return for Hallowe’en in 2022 with the Great Hall ceiling decorated with over 100 floating pumpkins, as well as a Halloween feast of lollipops and red apples dressed along the tables.
You can follow the Dark Mark trail, and even try your wand combat moves against Death Eaters in a live duel as they storm the Studio Tour.
Even Platform 9 ¾ and the terrific Diagon Alley become a little darker...
You can now cancel your bookings and receive a full refund if you do so up to 14 days before your time of travel.
