Premier Inn Gatwick North Terminal

Of the budget hotel chains, Premier Inn is the largest in the UK and is thought of as having high quality relative to its rivals. Add competitive pricing and the great value offered and its no wonder that many British always check out the Premier inn option.

At Gatwick Airport, Premier Inn currently has four hotels that service the airport, two of which you can walk to the North Terminal at Gatwick from, the others have shuttle buses.

At Gatwick Airport the most convenient hotel is the Premier Inn Gatwick North Terminal, a very large 600+ bedroom hotel located next to the North Terminal at Gatwick. This is also one of Gatwick's newest hotels opened in late 2012. From the North Terminal there are free shuttle trains every couple of minutes to the South Terminal.

Compared to the other Premier Inn hotels at Gatwick you do pay a small price premium for this convenience.

So taking each Premier Inn one by one ...

• Premier Inn Gatwick North Terminal - As its name implies, this Premier Inn is close to the North Terminal, right next door in fact. The Premier Inn Gatwick North Terminal is the only budget hotel that you can easily walk to the passenger terminals from. If you are using the South Terminal at Gatwick, there is a free shuttle train between North and South terminal that runs every couple of minutes. This Premier Inn is very much larger than the other Premier Inn properties at Gatwick with 630 rooms and is the newest Premier Inn as well, opened only in late in 2012.

• Premier Inn Gatwick Airport Way - was until the new Premier Inn Gatwick North Terminal opened in 2012 the most central Premier Inn at Gatwick. It is possible to walk from this hotel to the North Terminal in 5 to 10 minutes with luggage, though most people take the shuttle bus that is provided, (though not complementary). Rates are cheaper than the North Terminal hotel and the hotel has its own sizable car park and offers hotel and long term parking deals.

• The Gatwick Manor Pub Attached To The Premier Inn Gatwick Airport South

  Premier Inn Gatwick South- is located 2 miles south of the Gatwick terminals . As you drive into the entrance you might wonder whether you have the right hotel with extensive grounds/parkland, an old manor house (the 14th-century Gatwick Manor) used as a restaurant and pub. It has an olde worlde feel with duck pond making it an idyllic place during fine weather. The modern accommodation block is at the rear of the pub/restaurant. A frequent bus shuttle shared with other airport hotels links the hotel to Gatwick Airport passenger terminals.

• Premier Inn Gatwick Manor Royal- is located just a few hundred yards from the Premier Inn Gatwick South but is very different. Situated in an industrial estate with airline businesses all around the hotel is a large modern block on the edge of the town of Crawley, the largest town in the Gatwick area. Rates here reflect the more business bias of its clientèle with cheap rates at the weekend and more expensive rates during the working week. The same airport shuttle bus that serves the Premier Inn Gatwick South serves this hotel and there are public buses too both to Gatwick and Crawley town centre.

Ibis Hotel Gatwick Airport - Another No Frills Budget Hotel Option

The Ibis Hotel Gatwick offers another value for money budget accommodation at Gatwick, just south of the airport.

The Ibis Hotel Gatwick is a large 141 room modern hotel just to the south of the airport with passenger terminal shuttle bus service which the Ibis Gatwick shares with a couple of other hotels. Alternatively you can use a local bus that stops outside.

The bedrooms at Ibis Gatwick Hotel have private bathrooms and air conditioning. Rooms also feature flat-screen TVs, high-speed Wi-Fi access and tea/coffee facilities.

An all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet is served daily, featuring fresh and continental options. The restaurant offers light meals and snacks, and the modern bar serves a range of beverages.

Travelodge Central Gatwick Airport - Often The Cheapest Hotel Rooms At Gatwick Airport

Travelodge is the second largest chain in the UK offering budget hotels. Travelodge properties are normally more basic than the Premier Inn hotels and are normally correspondingly cheaper. So called Saver Rates, very deep discounted hotel rooms are often available at Travelodge Gatwick if you purchase on-line well in advance.

The Travelodge Gatwick Central is a very large hotel which for the last few decades was a full service 4 star hotel known for much of its time as the Renaissance Hotel Gatwick Airport. Gone are all the spacious lounges and gourmet restaurants, their space taken by more low priced Gatwick hotel rooms. The Travelodge itself is one of the closest off airport hotels to the passenger terminals and is linked by a shuttle bus.
