Gatwick Airport London is around 30 miles south from Central London.


The familiar London black taxis are not available at Gatwick as the airport is too far outside London. A company called Checker Cars are the designated 'official' taxi operator at the airport operating cars into London. Other cheaper companies are available but you have to prebook these before traveling.


A taxi transfer from Gatwick to Central London is not very popular with passengers. Although the distance is just 30 miles, the roads as such that the fastest transfer takes one hour, often much, much more. The journey is stop start through suburbia, there is no motorway grade road. Train is faster and cheaper.

Small Bus - For Up To 8 Passengers With 16 Large Cases

Air conditioned roomy small buses with lots of luggage room for small groups. (These buses are really 12 seat buses with seats taken out). Drivers meet and greet at airports, hotels and ports just like the cars.


These small buses are small enough to get in the car parks at airports, big enough to qualify to use the special bus lanes in Central London.

Note our buses do not have special wheelchair lifts but they are able to accommodate wheelchairs or electric scooters for those who can board the buses independently. There can be two steps up to the passenger cabin.
