Tour Itinerary:

The small bus comes into its own on this tour into the picturesque Cotswold region to the north west of London. With the small bus we can go down country lanes and visit places the big tour buses and crowds are prohibited from. You'll see more of the unspoilt countryside and villages that attract people to the Cotswold region in the first place.

Either side of the Cotswolds we visit two famous towns on the edge of the Cotswolds, Oxford and Stratford Upon Avon, where Shakespeare was born and died .

The Small Group Tour Difference

On this tour you will be travelling with no more than 16 other people - guaranteed! Our purpose-built minibuses have large windows, good air circulation and clear PA systems so that your professional guide can escort you comfortably through our wonderful countryside.

The small group size means you are not subjected to long hotel pick-up journeys around London and as a small group the guide can offer a more personalised guiding service. So don't hang back, ask your questions and you'll be helping the guide tune their commentaries to the interest of the group on board that day, every group is different!

Another advantage of a small bus is we can go places the big tours cannot and wherever possible we'll head off down a country lane to to show some hidden gem.

Oxford, the Cotswolds and Stratford on Avon Tour - What To Expect

Stratford on Avon

Garden of Shakespeare's Birthplace

Garden of Shakespeare's Birthplace

Our day begins with a visit to Stratford Upon Avon, a charming market town set in the heart of rural England. Known the world over as the birthplace of the great poet William Shakespeare, our tour includes an exclusive visit to Shakespeare's Birthplace. Now a museum, this half-timbered house, where Shakespeare and his brothers and sisters were born and brought up, is furnished in period style, with rare artefacts on display and costumed guides, as well as up to date exhibitions. Shakespeare's Birthplace really does bring to life the extraordinary story of this internationally famous man.

We will also take time to visit the Holy Trinity church where Shakespeare was both baptised and buried.

After a panoramic tour of the town and some free time we continue for a photo stop at Anne Hathaway's cottage, a beautiful timber-framed thatched farmhouse that was Shakespeare's wife's childhood home before travelling south through the stunning Cotswolds.

Bridge of Sighs Oxford

Cotswold Village

The Cotswolds

We meander down country lanes, through villages of honey coloured stone, passing Cotswolds Hills to Stow-on-the-Wold, the charming twins of Upper and Lower Slaughter, Bourton on the Water (otherwise known as Venice of the Cotswolds) and Burford.

A stop for a leisurely lunch is made in Stow-on-the-Wold, a beautiful and impressive market town in the Cotswolds. You will see the attractive Market Square, a bygone of the town's former importance for its annual wool fairs.

After the Cotswolds village drive we then we set off to Oxford, the home of oldest English speaking University in the world.

Oxford

Bridge of Sighs Oxford

Bridge of Sighs Oxford

Your visit begins with a guided walking tour amongst the cloisters and quadrangles of Britain's oldest University, founded in 1167 when King Henry II banned English students from attending the University of Paris.

Our guided walking tour will take you into the heart of this land of hallowed academia, to the Bodleian Library, to the Radcliffe Camera, Sheldonian Theatre, Harry Potter film locations and University buildings.

Entry is included to the Divinty School, built in 1488 for the teaching of theology. This splended room is the University's earliest purpose built teaching room, and its first examination hall.

After the guided tour there will be some free time to enjoy the city, before we depart Oxford and take the short drive to London.
