There is free time for lunch in Stratford-upon-Avon as well as visiting Shakespeare's birthplace, in total spending around 75 minutes in Stratford.

The birthplace of William Shakespeare, the greatest writer in the English language, and home to the theatres of the world-renowned Royal Shakespeare Company, Stratford is a charming market town set in the heart of rural England. There are some wonderful half-wooden buildings that date back to Shakespeare's time. You can even see the school Shakespeare attended.

Oxford

Early afternoon and we are on the road again crossing the scenic Cotswold region to the university city of Oxford.

In Oxford, the City of Dreaming Spires, we take a walking tour amongst the cloisters and quadrangles of Britain's oldest University, founded in 1167. Ivy clad medieval college buildings compete for space with Georgian shops and ancient churches around busy streets which both 'Town and Gown' call home.

Enjoy a short walking tour with our professional guide with entrance to Christ Church included. Christ Church is the largest college and is the single most popular destination. Christ Church was famously, the college where Lewis Carroll penned Alice in Wonderland while he was a Mathematical Lecturer, and you can see the beautiful stained glass window with potraits of the real Alice Liddell, who inspired Carroll. It was also the educational establishment for thirteen prime ministers, as well as a place of filming for such films as Philip Pullman's Northern Lights and Harry Potter.
