The London Eye pods

Join a small group and your experienced host in the fast-track VIP check-in area before your flight in a reserved private pod. This avoids the queues and makes your whole London Eye experience run smoothly.

The London Eye offers spectacular views across London but it is easy to sometimes miss areas of interest or come away feeling you would like to know more about a specific building or area.

This is where the professional guide will make the whole flight more interactive by pointing out London's major landmarks, some less well known ones and explain some of the history behind the great city. You can ask questions throughout and get a real insight into London from above.

This flight also includes a souvenier London Eye 360 degree viewing card. You can also enjoy both the 4D cinema experience and visit the VIP Champagne bar, this has lovely view across the river to Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

Full details of vintage bus tour and London Eye VIP experience

London Eye and vintage red bus tour

Vintage bus drives past Big Ben

The London Eye flights are at 1pm and 5pm only. The vintage red bus tour runs before each flight, leaving from and returning to the London Eye approximately two hours later. The morning tour leaves at 10am with a 1pm flight and the afternoon tour leaves at 2pm with a 5pm flight. This is an open top bus tour and unsurprisingly the best views are up at the top, so do dress appropriately for the weather.

Flights on the London Eye last 30 minutes. You are free to walk around inside each pod but there are also seats available. Each pod holds up to 25 people.

Upon arrival you need to meet your guide at the London Eye ticket office, VIP check-in, 15 minutes prior to the flight time booked.

The London Eye is on the River Thames on the South Bank. It is a 5-minute walk from Waterloo main station or you can walk across the Golden Jubilee Bridges from Embankment tube station in around 5-minutes too. This is also a great place to take photographs of the London Eye from, as the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben can be seen opposite the London Eye from the footbridge.

Other London Eye experiences

We have a dedicated London Eye page that details all the different ways you can experience the London Eye flight. These include VIP, fast-track entrance, champagne flights as well as other bundled attraction packages. It also has details on transport options to the London Eye and its opening times.

Alternative London red bus tour - vintage Routemaster open top trip

There is another vintage London red bus tour that starts at Victoria Coach Station and takes in similar sights to that of the London Eye tour bus. The main difference being that this tour is a longer tour from which you alight in the morning to view the Changing of the Guard, as well as at other stops in London (time allowing).

This tour ends virtually opposite the London Eye with a river cruise, so you can enjoy the sights of London from the River Thames. You can then elect to return to Victoria Coach Station or stay by the London Eye and visit the nearby attractions. This tour runs in the morning and afternoon and is slightly different for each trip, so you can pick what is most important to you.
