The Thistle Hotel Heathrow is at the north-west corner of Heathrow Airport along the northern perimeter road - the Bath Road close to Longford village. The hotel is one of the closest hotels to Terminal 5 at Heathrow.

There are a couple of pubs in Longford village just 5 minutes walk away and a McDonalds close by. Free local buses run every 20-30 minutes from outside the hotel to Terminal 5. There are also dedicated Heathrow Hoppa buses to all the passenger terminals from reception.

On a fine day the hotel has a great viewing area and bar overlooking the runway at Heathrow.

Although the Thistle is not the most attractive hotel architecturally from the outside, room rates can be very attractive.

Free Local Buses To Passenger Terminals

Public buses (routes 75 and 76) run from the Central Bus Station between Terminals 1 and 3 along the Bath Road. You can either get off at the Sheraton (on your right) and walk about 400m to the Thistle cutting through McDonald's car park or get off the bus along the Bath Road and switch to a number 81 or 423 bus which stops yards short of the Thistle. Get off when the bus turns off the Bath Road at the junction with a McDonalds.

FREE public bus route 423 run from in front of the hotel to Terminal 5 around every 20-30 minutes.

Vicinity Around Thistle Hotel Heathrow:

There are some pubs within a 10-15 minute short stroll and also a McDonalds and a Chinese and Indian restaurant.

Its possible to visit Windsor using local buses. Windsor Castle is in the heart of Windsor with bus stops outside. You can get the the 75/76 or 81 buses to Slough from where you can get other buses over to the other side of the River Thames and Windsor. An alternative route giving you scope to visit Runnymede where the Magna carta was signed involves getting the 77 bus between Windsor and Terminal 5 at Heathrow. From Terminal 5, the 423 bus will bring you back (free) to the Thistle Hotel.
