The Thistle Hotel Heathrow is at the north-west corner of Heathrow along the northern perimeter road - the Bath Road close to Longford village. The hotel is one of the closest hotels to Terminal 5 at Heathrow.

The Thistle Hotel Heathrow is a large four star, two storey hotel.

Unlike most Heathrow Hotels there is opportunity to eat and drink outside the hotel. There are good pubs in the village and a McDonalds close by.

The hotel has a great viewing area and bar overlooking the runway at Heathrow. There is a Health Club across the road that guests can use for which a charge is made.

Passenger Terminal Transfers:
Like all the major hotels at Heathrow, transfers between the the hotel and the Heathrow passenger terminals are provided by the Hoppa Buses. The relative position of the Thistle Heathrow to the various passenger terminals and hotels are shown at the Heathrow hotel map at the bottom of the page.
Local public buses also pass the front door of the Thistle Heathrow to Terminal 5.
Other local buses to the Central Area where Terminals 1,2,3 are, are available with a 250m walk.
Hotel Transfers By Hoppa Bus
No complementary hotel shuttle buses run to/from any mainstream Heathrow hotel.
Instead, 'Hoppa Buses', (pictured left) and regulated by the airport authority run on fixed routes, each serving 2 or 3 hotels.

 A separate Hoppa Bus service runs to Terminal 5 than a service for Terminals 1,2,3 (central area). There is no direct service to Terminal 4. For Terminal 4 go to Central and take the Heathrow Connect train (free of charge to Terminal 4). The Heathrow Connect runs every 15 minutes.

Vicinity, Good & Bad Points :
The Thistle is a 300 bedroom hotel at the north-western corner of the airport, at the edge of the village of Longford. The hotel will win no awards for its architecture, drab low rise blocks. The Thistle offers low prices, often comparably priced to the cheapest hotels at the airport, particularly at the weekend. The hotel is right next to the northern main runway.

The hotel does a lot of conference business, like most large hotels at Heathrow.

There is a pub and small local shops in the village down the road from the hotel.
A McDonalds is about 200m away on the main road, (Bath Road) opposite the Sheraton Hotel. The White Horse Pub is one of several pubs serving food in Longford village.
Next door to the White Horse is a quaint thatched cottage.
