The
Marriott Hotel Heathrow / Windsor
is by Junction 5 on the M4 motorway, about 5 miles west of Heathrow.
The Marriott Heathrow / Windsor has a sister hotel called Marriott
Heathrow which is on the main airport hotel strip (the Bath Road)
opposite the north runway.
Needless to say the Heathrow / Windsor is significantly more economical.

Instead a fleet of 'Hoppa Buses', (pictured left) regulated by the airport
authority run on fixed routes, each serving 2 or 3 hotels.

Hoppa services run to Terminals 1,2,3 and Terminal 5 (separate services)
For Terminal 4 go to Central (Terminal 1,2,3), then the Heathrow Connect
train (free). Heathrow Connect trains run every 15 minutes between
Central and Terminal 4.
Buses run about every 15 minutes between the hotel and passenger terminals
approximately between 05:30 and 21:45.
Fare £4 per journey per adult (£8 return)
There are public buses that stop across the road from the Marriott
Hotel, running from Slough into the airports bus station and Terminal
5 about every 15 minutes that are cheaper and slightly more frequent
than the Hoppa Bus. Clearly if you're dragging a lot of luggage its
not such a good idea.
You can take the free Heathrow Connect and Heathrow Express trains
between Terminals 4,5 and Central (between Terminals 1,2,3).

Good & Bad Points:
The
Marriott Hotel Heathrow/Windsor is about 5 miles west of the terminals
complementing the another 4 star Marriott much closer to the terminals.
For this slight inconvenience, room rates are vey competitive. Otherwise
the hotel is a full service four star complete with choice of restaurants,
indoor pool, steam rooms etc.
If you want to get away from the hotel there is a pub opposite and
a Harvester Steak House about 200m away. A convenience shop is about
200m away down by the side of the pub.
Public
buses runs into Heathrow about every 15 minutes from opposite the
hotel, an alternative to the dedicated Hotel Hoppa service. A public
bus to Windsor Castle runs the other side of the motorway from the
hotel, buses run every 30 minutes (1 hour on Sunday) and run late
into the evening. |
