Travelodge Heathrow Central

The Heathrow Travelodge Central is a new hotel opened in December 2008. It is positioned to the east of the airport. A shuttle bus for which there is a charge runs to the passenger terminals and there are also public buses to the airport that pass the door.

Unlike nearly every other Heathrow airport hotel the Travelodge is in a residential array with many neighbourhood shops on your doorstep. Virtually every type of fast food outlet you can think off is here, plus sit-in restaurants, pubs and a small Tesco supermarket.

If you are flying from Terminal 5, there is a more convenient Travelodge on the other side of the airport within sight of Terminal 5. This Travelodge at Heathrow is called Heathrow Travelodge Terminal 5. For all other terminals, Heathrow Travelodge Central has much better connections.

The Travelodge chain often has 'saver' rates available. These are advance purchase, no refund rates which when available are the lowest room rates at Heathrow Airport.

No complementary hotel shuttle buses run to/from any mainstream Heathrow hotel.

Instead, 'Hoppa Buses', (pictured leftt) and regulated by the airport authority run on fixed routes, each serving 2 or 3 hotels. Hotels have one bus for Terminals 1 &3, another for Terminals 4 & 5.

Local Buses To Passenger Terminals

If you have light luggage you can catch the route 105 or 111 bus from the Central Bus Station between Terminals 1 and 3 to a bus stop immediately outside the Travelodge at a fraction of the cost. The 105 runs a 24x7 service.

A night bus (N9) runs past the hotel every 20 minutes throughout the night from the Central Bus Station and Terminal 5. This runs when the London Underground is closed and goes all the way to Central London.

Going the other way the 111 bus goes to Kingston and along the way stops outside Hampton Court Palace.

The Travelodge Central Heathrow is offers you a lot of flexibility to 'escape' the hotel if you have no transport of your own.

There is quite a good selection of pubs and restaurants right on your doorstep. As well as countless fast food outlets there are sit-down restaurants and a small Tesco supermarket.

Buses in front of the Travelodge go every couple of minutes to Hounslow West Underground station if you want to go into London. You can buy Travelcards or Oyster Cards public transport passes from a shop in Cranford
